I was looking at this video the other day, and despite the fact that he may have stretched the truth in certain areas, I thought this Q and A session with Rickson's son Kron was very interesting and I enjoyed hearing it.

Do you guys know of any other BJJ speeches about training, philosophy etc that are around on the net?

Thanks guys!!

i respect Kron and i like his game, but i disagree with so many of his statements in that vid

Helio couldn't do one pull-up? Helio never lost? the guard didn't exist before Helio? all due respect to Helio and his importance to BJJ, but Kron is talking blatant revisionist history and propaganda. I'm a BJJ geek, but come on....

And his criticism of guard innovations as "not correct" and "I don't train for competition, I train for life" Yeesh. such a narrow-minded TMA attitude. if BJJ were only about self-defense, it would involve getting a gun licence.

why not appreciate sport expressions of the art? he competes in sport BJJ, he knows it's not all about what works "when I'm punching you in the face" Trashing developments like X-guard just sounds like "my family first" sour grapes

All my bitchin aside, here are some contributions to your thread:

TS - Thank you! This is one of the best threads I've read. Great reminders, small details and very motivating videos.

Thanks to all for posting!!

Let's keep this very active!

Thanks so much guys, these are exactly what I was looking for!! Keep them coming!

Don't have a video for it, but Dave Camaillo said something that stuck in my head. It's more a paraphrase but it went something like this. "When you grab someones arm it is now your arm. The arm belongs to you and not him." Of course I've yet to master this ability of owning someone else's limbs but I'm getting there.

Interesting flexibility info from Eddie Bravo, I felt was important. I played football in college and have super tight hips/knees ...definitely need to work on it!!

Hey guys, I don't post a lot at the forum, but I appreciate the topic. I have a v-log that I share a lot Positive things about Jiu-Jitsu and about my team Nova Uniao. I was 0-5 in Jiu-Jitsu competitions when I started, and then 1-6, when I won my first tournament, a small one. So at this episode, I talked about the importance of hard work, sacrifices and perseverance to achieve anything in your life and Jiu-Jitsu is no different.
