I know this is the Sports bar but take Daniel Cormier for example.

The man is a great Fighter but imo not overly Talented. I mean of course his work ethic seems to be second to none, and his MMA skill is on the elite level. However he cant get past Talented individuals like Cael Sanderson (who Yoel Romero beat twice) or Jon Jones. You cant make your self "talented" no matter how hard you try or work.

Prime Ken Griffey Jr immensely Talented but would have really benefitted from a year round S&C program Just imagine Griffey if he would have been juicing like his contemporaries????

Or for a basketball analogy take Dennis Rodman's HOF career as far as forwards of the 80's go he ranks very low on the basketball talent/skill factor but his work ethic made him a defensive and rebounding beastman.

Hon Mention for all talent team

Jordan

Messi

Allen Iverson

Darryl Strawberry (never took a PED)

Magic Johnson

No Talent hard work team

Dennis Rodman

Derek Jeter

Julio Cesar Chavez

Jerry Rice

Kobe Bryant

Travel master LeBron James.

Lower the shoulder, bull rush to the hoop and draw a phantom foul.

There is no such thing as an untalented elite athlete.

Lmfao at Cormier being anything but physically superior to the average man in explisveness, endurance, punch resistance, strength and overall physical toughness even without any training.
To get anywhere close to a high level in any decent pro sport you need to be naturally gifted. Hard work only matters if the talented gyus don't work hard which is never the case at a high level and only accounts for small differences among elite athletes (not saying these small differences can't matter)

Thanks Faust and TTINN. I lol at both.

This category was made for Tom Brady. Though, there is not another position in sports like QB.

As far as the DC examples, I do not get it. Cael Sanderson is considered almost universally to be the greatest college wrestler of all time and Jones is considered by most to be one of the greatest if not the greatest of all time in MMA. Poor comparison. DC is an amazing talent.

I guess Larry Bird. He was white boy in a black man's world.

And I guess John Stockton, Steve Nash, David Robinson, and Dirk Nowitzki fit that bill too.

....OK maybe Losing to Cael, and Bones is nothing to hang ones head at. It just seems that D.C. Doesn't bring any hutzpah or that unteachable dynamic to his game.

Like Jordan, or Griffey jr, or Darryl Strawberry prime Roy Jones Jr is another one.

all brought that talent that "it" thing you can't teach. Randy Moss had "it" the way he made it look so easy. And compared Jerry Rice........you could tell Jerry was working and battling and trying as hard as he could.

I'm sorry but you have down syndrome. My head wants to explode de-bunking this worthless drivel, especially starting with Rodman...

You must have NEVER played a sport in your life.

It's not cool to use downs syndrome as an insult

Lmao at Jeter and Kobe. Guys who are athletic but not talented are dudes like

Slight coward and Bork Lesnar off the top of my head.

See these are the kind of quality answers that should have been posted in the OP. But it's to be expected from someone of high intelligence like Canrona.

Mods @Revolver @RR : Can you remove JerkDandy Sr from his own thread and give this thread to @Corona ? Thanks

In the NFL receivers like Wes Welker or Danny Anendola.

Great question. It actually is talking about "nature vs nurture"
