I'm going to a grappling tournament tomorrow.
I remember last time I got stiff arms (is it called that?) The inside of my elbows where pumping and hurting like hell. This rarely rarely happens at practice expect when I go really really hard.
How can I avoid this? Better warm up?
Excuse me on my English -.-

Relax, breathe deeply and have confidence in your training.

Remember that Jiu is softness and bending, dont oppose strength with strength.

try to get a light sweat when you warm up. also, in between matches have one of your teammates massage your arms.

its so easy to not get nervous... just think of your dominance over your opponent and the been there done that...

The answer is different for different people. For some, getting into N/S with a sweaty dude will almost immediately induce flacidity; for others it will only make it worse. Check the rules and see if your tournament allows the wearing of a cup.

I just remember that I'm rolling with guys. That helps a lot.

Oh wait.....never mind.

listen to reggae and stay call or keep your mind off your match until its about to start it helps me with that. BTW Jag congrats on the red belt

Like the other guy just said before me, Try to only roll with guys!

I'm going out on a limb here, but it sounds like tendinitis or tendonosis. The only thing you can really do is take ibuprofen and pick up some icy hot.
