When you think of grappler 'X' you think of move/submission 'Y'

*Ryan Hall - Triangle Choke
*Eddie Bravo - Rubber guard
*Marcelo Garcia - Rear Naked Choke
*Roger Gracie - backstop choke from mount
and the way its looking
*Cody Mckenzie - guillotine choke

hell, I'll even take: Rickson Gracie - Armbar

What more can you think of? And one time famous sbmission don't count, I'm not looking for Nick Diaz - Gogoplata.

You put Marcelo for RNC, but I also think of him for X-Guard, most arm-drags.

Mendes Bros-- 50/50

Jacare-- Ankle Picks

Braulio-- Inverted Guard/Triangle Choke (just like Hall)

I'd also give Ryan Hall the reverse heel hook from 50/50 guard. He gets that all the freaking time.

Nino "Elvis" Schembri - Omoplata

Jeff "Snowman" Monson - North/South choke

Roberto Tozi - Tozi Pass
Wallid Ismail - Clock Choke
Roleta - Inverted Guard
Hillary Williams - Triangle
Fabio Faria - Deep Half Guard
Demente - armbar from side control
Cyborg - Inverted Guard
Marcelinho - armdrags and rnc
Ricardo De La Riva - ...
Shaolin - Porco Sweep
Leo Santos - Butterfly guard

the list goes on and on and on :D

Alexandre Pimentel - Omoplata
Ryan Hall - Triangle & Heel Hooks
Carlos Portugues - Closed Guard
Langhi - Spider Guard
Jeff Glover - guilhotina
Cavaca - Achilies lock
Toquinho - Heel Hook
Rico Vieira - Spider Guard

Imanari - heel hook.

Judo
Koji Komoru = Sode Guruma Jime / Ezekiel Choke
Kosei Inoue = Uchi Mata
Toshihiko Koga = Seoi Nage
Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki = Tomoe Nage
Neal Adams = Tai Otoshi
Yasuhiro Yamashita = O Soto Gari

BJJ
Eduardo Telles - Turtle Guard
David Camarillo - Flying Armbar

These are just techniques that immediately spring to mind when I think of the names, most of these guys obviously have quite the handful of signature moves:

Mario Sperry - Clock choke
Leo Vieira - Leg drag
JJ Machado - Butterfly hook sweep
Rafa Mendes - Back take from De La Riva guard
Jeff Glover - Homer Simpson sweep
Pablo Popovitch - Arm drag to inside trip
Baret Yoshida - Crucifix to RNC
Marcelo Garcia - North-South choke
Roberto Roleta Magalhaes - Helicopter sweep
Rubens Cobrinha Charles - Spider guard tomoe nage sweep
Roberto Cyborg Abreu - Reverse triangle from back control (or same as Roleta)
Roberto Tussa Alencar - Triangle against single leg

Your criteria is nuts. One move per person isn't enough, and anyway what's the point, other than being able to spot a move someone does well? I'm not trying to be a debbie-downer but I don't get it.

Also, even taking your criteria, why can't it be a famous submission?

What other sub would Nick Diaz be "famous" for?
So I couldn't say Ryo Chonan - Flying Scissor Reverse Heelhook? Simply because it's famous?

If you wanted to make a list for fun, at least say like 3-5 techniques.

Someone could say:

Marcelo Garcia; crucifix, seat-belt, x-guard, one-legged-x/footlock guard, guillotine, RNC, north-south choke, spiral armbar, and any of the above moves would work.

Ryan Hall; 50/50 reverse heelhook, triangle, mounted Darce, RNC, deep half guard, upside-down guard, Marcelo guillotine, and any of those would work.

OR you could say pick a sub, sweep, and pass for each person. One move just isn't enough.

Langhi - Spider Guard
Jeff Glover - guilhotina
Cavaca - Achilies lock
Toquinho - Heel Hook
Rico Vieira - Spider Guard

You think of the guillotine when you hear Jeff Glover?

If anything he's known for the deep half guard, Darce, back-takes, RNC, and the s-grip squeeze triangle. But I feel like this is even shortchanging someone or not looking deep enough at their game. I honestly believe these threads make you pigeonhole yourself into what you look at.

No offense to you, I know you'e just playing the game. :icon_chee

Exactly. Its a famous ONE TIME sub. I'm talkin like you can just smell the one move comming.

Not a grappling example but: Cro Cop - LHK I'm talking that kind of synonimous.
