The Gracie's need to tap into those saving funds and buy a decent camcorder.

1994 man. Tapes degrade. My old porn collection is virtually unwatchable now. I have to squint and stand on my head.

that's actually what things looked like in the 80's

but then again, I think my folks did a fair amount of LSD, so some of my circuits might be fried

epic terminator music

LOL thanks for mentioning that, otherwise I wouldn't have watched the vid.

Gracie vs bodybuilder? 5/10
Gracie vs bodybuilder to wavy Terminator music? 8/10

Lol that bodybuilder had good instincts, I doubt the weight difference was that much.

Also, this reminds me of that other street fighting thread where people were saying that the jiu jitsu guy was less than a blue when he looked better than Sauer (I don't doubt his skills at all, just puts in perspective the street fight effect)

This is why you never underestimate athletes on the street! This guy is a blackbelt and this guy gave him a good scrap! Guys that bench 400 plus pound are not exactly weaklings!

Gracies are so sad, Bodybuilding is not a martial art and Mr. Utah is not an accolade lol

Lol I would've loved if in one of the early UFCs they had Royce fight Dorian Yates.

I am not even going to lie I was really disappointed with a guy at Pedro Sauer level taking that long against an untrained body builder. I mean we are talking one of the best Brazilian Jujitsu practitioners in the world here. This video took place a long time ago but still Sauer is a red belt Helio and sons.

That guy seemed like he had more training than just bodybuilding. He blasted that double leg.

What this video really shows is that Jiu-Jitsu has come such a long way. The black belts and world champions of today's generation are light years ahead of the greats from 90's, no one can dispute that.

Obviously none of you know the whole story then.

Pedro Sauer chose to stand up and "box" the guy at the start of the fight to prove a point. Mr. Utah was talking trash about how bad ass he was and how he couldn't get hit. Sauer punched him in the face at will to prove how big of a douche he was. Utah also said that he would be able to bench press his way out of every Jiu Jitsu move that Sauer tried to put on him.

This has been reviewed every other month since 1994 and people are still just seeing it for the first time? Where have you been?

I'm in no way comparing myself to either of those guys , but the way the bodybuilder couldn't even block a punch that was telegraphed like 2 days before it was thrown , didn't made me really impressed with him, and neither with a guy that can defeat him.

Love the kicks! Today's MMA athletes need to get back to using those Gracie kicks rather than the Muay Thai leg blasts everyone uses now.
