Whats wrong with those suggestions? Or is it that you want to complain about any and all guidance as if its tyranny?

Seems dramatic. Most normal people will just do whatever they want regardless of his suggestions and move on.

Exactly. There is no realistic way to enforce this. Newsom isn't going to be sending inspectors house to house on the 26th. It's just very reasonable advice.

Governor Newsom Lays Out Thanksgiving Rules. And They Are Crazy.

Dictator of California, Governor Gavin Newsom, has laid down his law for how people will be allowed to celebrate Thanksgiving. The rules, set forth by Governor Newsom and the California Department of Public Health, are both ridiculous and draconian.

Here are the highlights, as reported by Newsweek.

First of all, forget a large gathering of aunts and uncles, grandparents, cousins, and friends. There is a strict limit of three households per gathering. Also, you must host your Thanksgiving outside. Hopefully it’s not raining or really windy. Too bad, so sad if it is.



All gatherings must include no more than three households, including hosts and guests, and must be held outdoors, lasting for two hours or less.

“The longer the duration [of the gathering], the risk of transmission increases,” the statement noted.

“Gatherings that occur outdoors are significantly safer than indoor gatherings. All gatherings must be held outside. Attendees may go inside to use restrooms as long as the restrooms are frequently sanitized,” the statement added.



Also, forget about any long, leisurely feast. Nope. You must remove your mask only briefly to eat or drink.

The new rules state those at a gathering “may remove their face coverings briefly to eat or drink as long as they stay at least 6 feet away from everyone outside their own household, and put their face covering back on as soon as they are done with the activity.”

And for those who like to have live music at their Thanksgiving celebrations (mine have never been quite that exciting), there are some guidelines on the allowable instruments.

Musicians are allowed at gatherings but they must be from one of the three households. The playing of any wind instruments (those that are played by the mouth, such as a trumpet or clarinet) is “strongly discouraged,” according to the statement.

You must have a very spread-out Thanksgiving with your loved ones. No hugs allowed.

The space for the gathering must be large enough to allow guests to maintain a physical distance of at least six feet from those who are not in their household at all times.

“Seating must provide at least 6 feet of distance (in all directions—front-to-back and side-to-side) between different households,” the statement noted.

Finally, forget about having a fancy Thanksgiving with the fine china and cloth napkins. Nope. The powers that be in California want you to have a nice Thanksgiving meal on disposable plates and silverware. So much for California being green.



As much as possible, all food and drink should be served in disposable containers, while self-serve communal containers and other shared items should not be used at the gathering.

A place for washing hands or hand sanitizer must be available for use at the gathering and all attendees should wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently, the statement noted.

Folks, we are on day number 224 of 15 days to slow the spread. People need to wake up and revolt against this government overreach. We are still a free people as far as I know.



We’ll see on November third what portion of this country wants to rule versus be ruled. We’ll see if the American people want to be free or be “taken care of” and told what to do by big government.

This election will be a defining election for the future of our country.
