The generation of fighters who started their professional careers in the 90’s is dwindling. But there are still a few good to great ones left.

List a fighter who started his career in the 90’s who is still fighting in the UFC today.

Tell us a favorite memory of a fighter whom started his career in the 90’s.

Finally, which current UFC fighter has the oldest career (started the longest time ago of any current UFC fighter)?

    Alistair Overeem Oct. 1999
    Andrei Arlovski – Apr. 1999
    Nate Marquardt - Apr. 1999
    Anderson Silva - Jun. 1997
    Dan Henderson - Jun. 1997
    Olesksiy Oliynyk Apr. 1997
    Josh Barnett – Jan. 1997
    Vitor Belfort - Oct. 1996

    I'll say Dan Henderson.

My favorite memory of him is his KO of Bisping.

I have no idea who started earliest. lol

First that comes to mind is Vitor, as is probably the case for most.

Vitor fought in 1996, Anderson and Hendo in 1997.

My favorite fighter is Anderson and the best memory was either the Chael submission, Griffin fight or Belfort kick

My favorite Moment of Barnetts career was probably his split decision win over Big Nog.

    Arlovski started in 1999 apparently.

    Of course Barnett!

I'll pay respect to Marquardt since he hasn't been mentioned yet. I'll say his one punch mid air KO of Maia.

He had one fight in which he threw a combo that looked straight out of Tekken. Like some kid was controlling his Marquardt Avatar, but was just smashing buttons on the game controller.

    That's my favorite Marquardt moment.

Vitor whooping Tank Abott so easily. Tank even showed respect & good sportsmanship afterwards which was something he never did & shock Belforts hand.

If only Ken Shamrock had finished that gift-wrapped submission on Kimbo, then bringing up his name wouldn't be so embarrassing right now.

But hey, if we're talking about who started first, he beats every other name mentioned in this thread.

And yeah I know he isn't UFC these days but I still feel he deserves a mention.
