They thought they could protest like they do in college and can actually change company rules. They were all asked to turn in their badges and leave the building. This made my morning.

The request mostly focused on footwear, asking for non-dress shoes that would fit under a more business casual dress code, but also asked if it was possible for the workers to not have to wear suits and/or blazers in favor of a more casual but still professional dress code.

The next day, everyone who signed was called into a meeting, where the lot was informed that due to their “unprofessional behavior,” they were being let go. “We were told to hand in our ID badges and to gather our things and leave the property ASAP,” the post reads. The young adults were shocked and weren’t given a chance to defend their actions. But that’s not the worst part. “Just before the meeting ended, one of the managers told us that the worker who was allowed to disobey the dress code was a former soldier who lost her leg and was therefore given permission to wear whatever kind of shoes she could walk in. You can’t even tell, and if we had known about this we would have factored it into our argument.”

“Interns these days got mouths on them. You’re in audition mode. You better not be slacking with the dress code.”

People who've had everything handed to them all their lives don't understand audition mode.

Good for that workplace.

Whoever thinks their workplace is a democracy, really needs to get their head out of their ass. Trying to tell their employer that they are actually the boss. Tough luck, kiddos!

Remember the old line; dress for the job you want? Hopefully they were wearing crocs and wife beaters, cause that's the job they deserve. None.

Fuck man. They were interns? That takes a lot of nerve and self-centeredness to think you can change a company's dress code as an intern who has been given the privilege of getting experience and guidance in a particular field. Lesson learned by them hopefully.

These are the type of stories that I want to hear. I am so curious to see how the entitled, delusional SJW brats adjust to the real world after graduating from their university. There has to be more stories like this out there as I doubt these delusional children are able to change their mindset within the few months between college graduation and real world work.

Don't give these pieces of shit an inch. If you give in to dress code protests, next thing you know, they'll be demanding how the company is run. Like giving minorities discounts on the product depending on their privilege score or forcing the company to pick a 6 foot 5 inch tall 7 year old Chinese girl as the CEO.

if only articles could be animated with thug life glasses lol

Typical American mentality. Whenever there is a dispute between a company and workers, the average person always side with the company. Why would anyone be happy interns got fired> Its like some of you got personally offended the way you respond

Could you please fuck off with the "typical American" bullshit?

No usually it seems to be the other way around. In this case, the company was right for firing these immature, entitled dipshits. A dose of the real world might actually make them wake up and smell the coffee. They won't need coffee for a while though, having no jobs and all.

Even if these people protesting against the dress code had their own businesses, I highly doubt they would choose to dress in anything BUT the most professional attire they could afford at the moment.

They'll learn. Not all millenials had the privilege to be raised by their Greatest Generation grandparents and hard working Baby Boomer parents, like I did. Show up for work on time, not when work is scheduled to start, dressed FOR WORK, and prepared to put in a days work. Not much to ask, really.

EDIT: And pack a lunch.

Haha! Yes lets just disregard what most of the general (average) population thinks. FUCK THOSE PLEBS!

So the people not writing the checks get to run the show, in your opinion? Was this not the right thing to do, or should they have caved into the demands of interns?

I don't understand why would someone protest over a such pointless issue.
Serves them right.
