A friend of mine is looking for a Muay Thai gym in east London. He was going to join KO Gym but I told him to hold on and look a bit further before that.
Anyone knows some good places he may want to check out?

Fight Factory, on Hanbury Street just off Brick Lane is decent, I trained there a few years back, classes everyday plus mma/bjj
Does monthly deals and stuff too.

In Stoke Newington there's a dude now doing muaythai/kickboxing, only checked it once and wasn't fussed but if your friend just wants a bit of training it might be ok

mon, wed and fri I think, 7quid per class or 40quid per month

Nothing, their fighters did rather well at the recent MSA show at the EXCEL .

But you could try LMTA i think they train near Liverpool St amongst other places .
