*** GOOD LUCK to Filthy Tom Lawler (possible head trauma) ***

Lawlor is a cool guy. I hope he fully recovers.

I am a bit confused about his 'coffee is a possible explaination thing'.

I hope he doesn't just laugh it off. I would be getting MRIs or PETs to looking for brain damage. Maybe he already has and they can't find clear damage.

You can have a TBI that is very hard to detect with imaging. It happened to me. My post concussion syndrome symptoms lasted 18 months but they did finally completely go away.

Good luck to Tom!

With him its tough.
If you ever heard him on a podcast, he mixes sarcasm with serious.

Congrats on you recovery. That 18 months must have sucked

I really hope and wish the best for Lawlor. It is a brutal sport and it's not a secret that this type of thing can happen. However, I would never wish it upon anyone. He needs to do what is best for him and it's not worth fighting again if he has any trepidation about his health.

Is there such thing as an ip ban? That would be good for these assholes
it's a good movie, too!

Scary. Reminds me of a good article by and about a hockey player who's gone through some serious post concussion syndrome and found some help from a Dr who's a leader in the sports concussion field. Good short read if anyone's interested in this sort of thing:

Oh, yeah, he's a funny guy, for sure. If he was just joking around, that's cool.

Yeah, 10-30 absence seizures a day (with bizarre and disgusting burning tar smell) definitely interfered with my enjoyment of life. I think the seizure medicine was even worse than the symptoms, though, lol.

Wishing him the best. The reality of the kind of damage these guys do to their bodies is serious. Glad he's being honest with himself. Having that new baby opens your eyes. You have to be around for a while and can't think of just yourself anymore. Heavy stuff.

And omg. This was sooooooo corny lol. Close to being a dad joke, and I am a dad, and I love dad jokes.

Definitely something that needs to be more understood. I think fighters need to be made more aware of the risks, but also more should be done to protect guys from themselves. As an example, Lombard took hundreds of punches against Magny, but is going to be fighting 3 months later. Which also means he'll be training sooner than that. How can a commission, trainers, managers, etc. allow the guy to go full contact so soon after such a beating?

I know, right? I've always had that cringey 'dad joke' sense of humor. My friends and family just have to deal.

That fucking sucks. Jeff Joslin was forced to retire and also TJ Grant because of that shit.

Scary man

He's got a boy now, it's good he's thinking about his longevity as a human not just a fighter. All the best bra.

Too bad those guys take a lot of damage for really very small amount of moneys...Tom Filthy Lawlor is truely one of my favorites fighters both inside and outside the cage and I wish him very best in his health situation...
