I'm looking for a good jiu jitsu academy for my 7 year old son in the Concord East bay area.
I have taken my son out of the Charles Gracie academy for two reasons.
1) The lack of attention given to child classes. It was a surprise each time we came in to as which student would instruct the class. All the student instructors were nice yet the classes were sub par which was a consensus among us parents. Many times Charles would be in the academy yet felt his presence was not needed in the child classes.
2) I became disgusted with Charles on a particular day as he conducted himself as the furthest thing from a gentleman. He disrespect my son in front of the class at the same time calling me out for watching the class. Not to mention other things that I care not to mention as it makes my blood boil! My son checked out the Ralph Gracie academy in Antioch. The instructor was very nice with all the kids but the class was 50 min fitness and 10 min Jiu Jitsu.
I would like my son to attend a jiu jitsu academy that values the child classes and the kids themselves.
Note: I'm being very diplomatic and leaving out many swears words on how I feel about Charles.
