I'll be travelling on business to Montreal, Canada in about a month. Anybody from Montreal know of a good BJJ school I can train at for about a week?

I hate to be lazy with teh information, but there is a club up there called Gamma i believe?

Its a Fabio Holanda school if i recall correclty, check it out.

Gamma is a BTT school , also check out Montreal BJJ it is a Carlson Sr school. Koji is the head instuctor at Montreal Bjj and is a wizard on the mat .

I couldn't find GAMMA on google. I did find Montreal BJJ, however. Thanks Gato and Kaboom for the suggestions.

Gamma shares it space with a couple of other Martial arts ( Mauy Thai , Kali , Arnis to name a couple ) . It's on St Cathrine st , I forgot the street number .

There is also Heart & Soul at 4324 St. Laurent in Montreal. Classes are taught by Nino Bezerra of BTT Canada (black belt under Fabio Holanda). BJJ classes are Tuesday and Thursday nights - 7:30pm-9:00pm (GI) and there's a NO-GI class on Saturday afternoons between 3:30-5:00pm.

I haven't trained at Gamma - but it's pretty common for guys from Gamma to drop in on our classes. If you're looking for more information on BTT Canada & Gamma - check out Fabio Holanda's site.

I would recomend training at H2O. They have an amazing (Bob Bass/Jean Jacques Machado) Black Belt instructor Mike Lee and also MMA fighter & instructor Richard Ho. I recieved the most one on one attention from these instructors than I did in any of the other montreal schools mentioned and or not mentioned above. Definitely worth checking out.
I think this is the website. http://www.h2oma.com

those website's dont have prices all i can say his

Montrealbjj is 80$ a month or 210 for three month.

6 MONTHS = 399$...............................6 classes a week!
1 YEAR = 699$......................................6 classes a week!

(See Special below for combining with Muay Thai)'

im kind of cheaply living these days anybody know of straight up drop in classes in Montr

Nice necro thread!

It depends completely on the culture of the school. My instructor is a black belt under Roberto "Maguila" Marques, and Maguila has told us during seminars that if we're ever in the Washington, DC, area that we can drop in and train for a week free of charge.

If you belong to a larger network of schools, such as Gracie Barra or Renzo's schools, they might be more accepting of something like that. But I don't think any serious or committed instructor just wants you bouncing between schools on a regular basis.

lol Koji is actually my trainer !! Great guy , im learning a lot from him.

PJL thank you for the reply. I guess if people know of the cultures with different mtl are trainers I would love to hear about it.

Should I tell the spots I check out of what my short term plan is (pot pourri, open mats) ? or just not talk until i make a greater commitment?

Is it seen as uncool doing bjj at one spot and sambo at another?
