Good read, basically Canelo isn't fooling anybody by beating up on B- fighter. His legacy won’t age well IMO. Super talented guy but the resume won’t age well IMO.

What’s he supposed to do? The opposition that a fighter like De La Hoya had in the 90s doesn’t exist today, so he’s stuck with Callum Smith, BJS, Bivol and a few others only known to hardcore boxing fans.

Ridiculous, Canelo is the pinnacle of the sport by any metric. He doesn’t chase any one or any thing, it’s everyone else that’s chasing him.

This columnist is a shit head, saying Danny, Kovalev and Smith are bums. The whole damn pice was just a GGG blow job.

Calculated risks, it's the same reason his next fight will be BJS, the easiest possible fight out of all the monsters out there. But after BJS shit will get real, everybody wants him and he is the type of guy who can make it happen, unlike floyd who would never fight someone with a physical advantage over him unless he couldn't help it, Canelo is the kind of guy who would say "fuck it" and go fight spense or bivol. But he will get rid of the "easier" matches first, sadly.

I hope we can see him fight Benavides

He comes close to saying GGG is a bum, too. Or maybe I’m the only one who thought he looked good on Friday.

Well, he could’ve fought Beterbiev instead of Kovalev (would’ve picked up 2 belts instead of 1). I understand the business angle driving his decisions, but he has to balance that with legacy fights. I do think they should’ve run the triple G fight back immediately.

Kovalev was washed when Canelo fought him, and Smith IS a bum for someone of Canelo’s caliber. The author never called Danny a bum, he gave credit for the Danny Jacob’s win.

Could’ve fought Beterbiev or Bivol instead of Kovalev. Just sayin

About the only valid criticism of Canelo there is him fighting Golovkin about a year/year and a half later than he should have. Past that, it's very difficult to have much issue with his resume. For a 30 year old, his resume is extremely deep. In fact, I'd argue the article has it completely backwards. His resume likely exceeds his actual quality as a fighter, not vice versa.

This shit popped up on google this morning. This Hernandez guy knows jack shit about Boxing.
Maybe so. But he’s right on the money with this article. Sometimes bad journalists get it right once in a while .

He could've, but expecting him to do that is absurd. Beterbiev is bigger at LHW than Canelo is at MW. He might still fight him in the future, but anyone expecting that of him have set their expectations impossibly high.
Why is it absurd? The fact that we accept that a P4P fighter moves into a new weight class without challenging the best at that weight class is pretty sad. I understand he’s just collecting belts, but why should that be a credit to his legacy? Who you got the belt from should be as important as getting it. If Beterbiev is too big for Canelo then he shouldn’t have ventured to 175 at all.
