Going to train in Thailand for 9 months

So i have no muay thai experience, just boxing.

Im sick of my life though, everything is just boring me to tears and i want a change, so i am going to sell everything and go and live in Thailand at a muay thai camp for ideally 9 months

I will be going alone so im quite apprehensive as i have never travelled alone.

My question is regrading visas, what is the best way to stay in thailand for 9 months ? Ideally where i dont need to make border runs on my own. I may sound like a bitch but like i said ive never travelled alone so dont fancy going off alone trying to get to the border and back in a foreign country

ED visa (education visa) for sure. You will have to check in with Thai immigration every 90 days, but it is waaaaaaay better than border runs in my opinion. It helps to dress nicely, be very polite, smile, and remember that the person holding your passport at immigration decides if you get to continue another 90 in Thailand or not (they can pull your visa if you are not actually using it for education). I did my ED visa through a gym and recommend it. If you get it through a school just know that attendance is required and immigration will test your language skills.

Also... Dunno where you are at mentally, but keep your chin up. Life does the dirty to all of us. I did this exact song and dance about two years ago. Was losing it at my job and just was totally depressed/uninterested in life. I sold everything I had and moved to Bangkok by myself also having never travelled or trained. Totally worth it, and easily the best 13 months of my life. I am actually only back in the US to save some money and head back to train full time again. Take care of yourself and use your time away to re-prioritize/sort stuff out. If you have more questions I am more than happy to answer anything I can. You are in for a serious adventure
