do i need to use pvc pipe or something else and also how to make it stay on there
If you want to make it thicker for added grip strengthening, wrap a towel around it.
Or do towel chinups.
Towelchinups are very tough for your grip.
I've used duct tape to thicken my dumbells in the past.
+ 1 for the towel
it is killer
Or you could keep your bar the same, and buy an 1 1/2 galvanized pipe. It's sturdy as shit, and it fits olympic plates damn near to perfect.
why would you want to put oly plates on a pullup bar?
But you're right, just buy a 2" galvanized pipe and find a way to attach it to your ceiling or exising pullup bar. Hang it, or buy some more pipe fittings to screw it to a truss, or something.
maybe he meant you can make a thickbar out of it?
Ha, in the future I'll start reading the whole thread...anyways, yea thats what I meant Cocky.
