Also the notion that Goddard is a pro Usman ref for some reason is silly. He pissed Usman off pretty bad when he reffed Woodley/Usman and kept standing the fight up when Usman was in dominant positions.

I am newer to the forum, but not new to mma by any means.
There are very few people around here who are objective. It’s annoying seeing people post the gif of just the right us man threw (to break colbys jaw) leaving out the first punch, a left, which clearly landed on colbys eye. Hard to tell if a thumb actually went into the eye or not, but Colby clearly wasn’t complaining about the right. It was the left. Jeez

It's clear as day to see the thumb go into Colby's eye, but it was definitely unintentional because Marty's hand bounced off Colby's arm and redirected towards the outside of his eye, but his thumb was sticking out

Just a bad luck situation for Colby because he started to look for the ref and open his mouth to complain and he got blasted on the chin. Protect yourself until you get space to complain or the ref calls time

Colby fouled Usman 5+ times. Colby should have been disqualified.

TS is not wrong, Usman faked a groin injury, faked eye poke (watch the replay and he did take a finger in the eye.....but the fucking funny thing is...Usman was wincing, covering and complaining about the opposite eye that was poked).

That and the shots to the back of the head....that bothered me the most....in the last minute of a super close fight he allowed 3-4 hard shots to the back of Colbys head without warning or stepping in to prevent it....its shit like that which makes me really question the validity of MMA as genuine sport...sometimes it can seem corrupt as fucking hell.

Regardless it was a great fight, both guys gave it their all but there was some seriously questionable actions by Goddard in that fight, especially considering he is one of the better ref's usually.

Yes, the shots to the back of the head should of been addressed but Usman was on his way to victory regardless.

He got his ass beat and ultimately lost due to TKO. Let it rest fam, its over. Colby did his thing, but he got what was coming. It is what it is. Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks, it will always be ruled as a TKO in the record book.

I could careless who won the fight because i want jorge to smash both these clowns.

Its evident we have a problem with refs. Ive never like goddard as a ref all these years. Lately all of the refs have been so on and off that they need to have an entire crash course. Its fucking up the flow of fights and gives fighters an advantage or a disadvantage

Nothing about the Usman-Covington fight made it evident that we have a problem with refs. Goddard reffed the fight well.
