Senior in high school currently in his 4th and last season of the great art of wrestling. It's the only reason why I would want high school to last longer. 4 years just isn't enough, man. No college wrestling for me cause the university I want to go to doesn't have it.

Currently got my eyes set on amateur boxing after HS (competed in middle school). At least that lasts until 34 years old.

Any past/current HS/college wrestlers here? How was wrestling for you? Best I've done was just winning league championships last year. Trying to make it to Masters/Sections (level before state) this year.

Damn Imma miss this sport =(

Haha yeah, I graduated last year. My college doesn't have it's own wrestling team/club either. We have a small bjj club, which is good, but that doesn't quite make up for it lol.

Yeah. It sucks bro. Just all the more reason to give it all you've got this final year.

i wish i was just about to graduate from hs lol. you have a lot to look forward to, sir. embrace it.

Count yourself lucky you have had that. In the UK we don't have any fighting sports at school. I've heard the USA wrestling is on a decline, it's a shame.

yeah it sucks that you only have 4 years if you only started in high school

It's hard to be introduced to the sport before high school unless family members wrestled, man. Never has wrestling ever crossed my mind nor did I even know what the hell happened in a match until my friend came up to me and said, "hey man let's try out wrestling this year." lol

I wasn't a wrestler, but you can be sure my sons will be introduced to it.

i wrestled i owe part of my bjj tournament success to the work ethic i cultivated while wrestling

with the UFC wrestling in high school has been more popular than ever especially to impressionable young kids.

I wrestled in High school but went to a University without wrestling. They added a wrestling program the year after I graduated. I've been working with the team the past five years, and am a better wrestler now than I was in high school.

( I too turned to boxing in college. It is much different, but it is fun too.)

Then you obviously don't care enough about wrestling or you'd go to a university that had a wrestling program. When I was looking into universities to do my MA the first thing I looked for was if they had a decent BJJ school nearby.

There are more club wrestling teams than college teams. They are everywhere. If you want to continue to wrestle or want to jump in every once in awhile, go wrestle at a club.
