Hey, I started taking this new multivitamin- it's called MEGA MEN and I get it from GNC. Have any of you guys tried it, if so is it a good multi-, as in does it have everything I need (I'm 16), and is there any crap that I don't need?

gnc is a good multi man. animal pack is better but more expensive. now adam multi is about as good as gnc vitamin and it is cheaper.

do a google search for it. you can find it for like 17 bucks a can wich contains 44 packs. each pack is 11 pills. so if you dont like taking pills i would stick to the gnc.

A: Of course you should. Especially in America. A list of good Multi's is as follows:

1) Balanced Essentials from Heaven Sent - Here you have a formula made from whole food sources that comes in liquid form and the taste isn't excruciating. With liquid you get the better absorbancy, and the whole food source mean this would be like what you SHOULD get from Vitamin content of all your food, but don't because food in the US SUCKS.

2) Sea Essentials by Heaven Sent - This was their first formula. People had discrepencies because it doesn't list the precise values of Vitamins it contains. But Heaven Sent aren't to blame for this. The FDA is. Because of the nature of the blend (Sea Vegetable preparation) the numbers vary slightly from batch-to-batch. The FDA said if they can't make it precise, they can't put numbers. But the antipoxidant and mineral properties of this are very good. And it was the Sea Essentials that I took and never, EVER got sick. I switched to Mega Men this year, and got my first cold in 3 years.

3) GNC Ultra Mega Green - Most Americans just do not get enough greens. Plain and simple. This is another Vitamin with whole food nutrients in it. But the drawback is these things are GIGANTIC. Not Horse pills, Elephant pills. And suggested use is 3 times per day (to supplement veggies with your meal), but like Mick states I think this is a bit of overkill. 2 per day in the morning should do.

4) Garden of Life's Living Multi - Notice a theme here? I hate the idea of purely synthetic vitamins. If you can score a good one with whole food nutrients you're going to find the health benefits a bit better. This is a good one. Garden of Life is a good line of things anyway, very reputable.

5) Nature's Plus - Source of Life. The customers who use this never, ever consider taking another one. And yet again another whole food source Vitamin.

Now, cheap? What will suffice? Well you have GNC's Mega Men, Twinlab's Daily Two, Solgar has a decent multi (Solgar is actually an excellent line but they tend to be pricey as well as they come from Japan.)

Multi's that come from natural sources are better.

do you think animal pack is a good vitamin sonny? how about now adam?

price wise and content wise its hard to beat those two.IMO. i only know what i read on forums tho. $30 a month for those liquid kind is a bit pricey and will add up. if you got the dough then i can see why you would use it but i cant!lol.

I know guys who swear by it, but it just seems like clever packaging to me. I took one pak once and my piss was mountain dew all day. You just know that you're pissing some money away.

But like I said, some of my powerlifting buddies love it.

GNC Ultra Mega Green is one I always hear about as being really good.

one thing i will say about animal pack is dont take it at night. i forgot to take the pack one day and took it at night. i could not sleep at all. i know it was from the pack. i felt like a crack head up all night.

LOL! Is there a stimulant in there?

I just started taking that. Read about it in the stickies and figured it was better than the One A Days I was taking. Been taking it about a week, haven't really noticed any difference though.

GNC's mega men is a good multi. Been taking it for a while and I'm happy with it

As far as your problem with spending 30$ for the liquid vitamin, if you take the recommended dosage of the mega men vitamin (two pills a day) it will only last you a little over a month and I'm pretty sure a bottle is around 20-25$

i thought that 180 pills was $30 ?? thats 3 months worth.

I take the gnc ultra mega green and i can say that I've never felt better than when I've been taking this. I work out every day and train bjj/thai boxing/ mma for 3 hours at least 3 times a week and I feel fully recovered every day. I take one pill in the morning with breakfast and another at night after I train. Like it said in the stickies, natural sources for vitamins are the way to go
