Glover Teixeira vs. Ovince St. Preux

lol St. Poo has absolutely no ground game and so sloppy standing up.

Glover showcased heart and superior positioning and grappling

If Mazagatti was refereeing this one Glover would still be holding the choke as we speak.

Poor Ovince. His lack of intelligence casts a huge cloud over his potential.

Great stoppage by Big John, too.

Glover put the beatdown on him.

Might be the slowest guy in the division, but damn. Dude's as strong as a fucking ox.

It's not a surprise OSP gassed out. It's exhausting to have someone like that on top of you.

Why so negative against OSP, Glover just showed he's one of the elite.

Sounds crazy but id like to see OSP vs Rumble. Would be a hell of a standup fight.

That was a great fight! Teixiera is like the Jerome Le Banner of mma. He is a though fucker !! :D

St. Preux has a bad gas tank.

Props to Teixiera for drowning him & getting the finish.

Tdd is horrible, but he does dumb shit like trying to take glover down etc. he should have kept it standing on the outside and dig those kicks. He is just explosive and heavy handed. Very average to terrible technically.

He has been training technique for a decade or close to it, so this is probably the ceiling.

This is a thread bump. Nobody panic.

After rewatching this one I noticed a lot of things that I didn't pick up on the first time around (that's usually the way it is). For starters, Glover did a lot better and engaged a lot more in the stand up portion of the fight than I remembered. The shots he was landing on OSP in the third are why he shot for a (sloppy) takedown which wound up with Glover slamming him and proceeding to beat the crap out of him before making him sleep. Second, as in most of his fights, OSP LOOKED pretty gassed in this one but retained his speed and power into the third round. He's a curious example of a guy who LOOKS way more gassed than he actually is. Or is it that he's able to push through the exhaustion? A good example of this from another fight is him winning the 5th round against Bader. Third, as sloppy as he may look, OSP can freakin' scramble! His TDD may not be so hot but he can hit a switch extremely quickly and it is a nightmare even for big strong grapplers to stay on top of him.

It's crazy how forgotten Glover seems to have become in the LHW title picture. The guy is an absolute beast.

It'll be interesting to see how Feijao copes with OSP's stand up in their upcoming fight. He's not facing an excellent offensive wrestler, so he should be able to throw his hands more readily in this one and if he comes in in top shape he should be able to work some nasty knees in the clinch to soften OSP up some. Of course, we literally never know which Feijao is gonna show up on any given night. The weigh-ins will give us a good idea if he's still training like he gives a shit about his career.
