Glory has apparently signed tyson to be an analyst at the upcoming glory 19 card. He is also on a commercial for the event that will play on spike tv.

The only fight that interests me in that card is ristie vs moxon to be honest

Hopefully it leads to some decent press and and more viewers because they need it

odd choice when you refuse to sign someone like badr based on criminal history and hire the one guy who puts badr crimes inside and out of the ring to shame.

For a company complaining about keeping a tight budget I'm not seeing the logic logic in paying a washed up convicted rapist to be an analyst. Would think that money would be useful in signing fighters without a contract ie saki, spong,Ghita, valtellini etc

there is no way they are paying him that kind of money

Tyson has actually calmed down a bit over the last few years and has become a pretty cool guy. His appearances on Opie & Anthony are hilarious. He's way more likable than Badr...

I don't have a problem with this move it just seems kind of cheesy.

Very cheesy, the ear biting thing too :D

i thought marketing and business were your specialist subjects?

saki and spong are upwards of $200k per fight. 3 fight deal, thats what, a $1.2m commitment?

judging by what i have read in his autobiography, which i have just finished (and which is excellent, recommended) i very much doubt Tyson is costing a fraction of a single Spong fight

is valtellini out of contract? he was tweeting about title defenses the other day so thats news to me. He's also tweeting at the UFC a lot though, about Cm Punk mostly.

his tour thing is supposed to be really funny, he was in manchester recently but i missed it

actually as i am typing this i literally just remembered, didnt he do a show for spike tv last year? im sure ive got it on my downloads. Maybe this is a spike tv thing

Aside from what others have posted about marketing etc, Tyson is a boxing historian, and is a good analyst. And from hearing him talk about other subjects it seems he's also aware of the ties pro wrestling has with both boxing and MMA, and knows a bit about the history of both. I'd therefore be surprised if he just shows up with absolutely no preparation done; I imagine he'll be researching and studying kickboxing, and that he already knows at least a little about it.

Dis, mon... dis.

Not even true in the slightest. JJ dont start pulling facts out of your ass, it kills journalistic careers.

Tyson would be way better than King Mo, but I'd rather see him as a boxing commentator
