Gustafsson get's shitted on by you idiots, saying he will be dominated and that he's Jones easiest fight and whatever.

Then he proves you retards wrong, and what do you do?

You make it all about Jones. How he will get mauled at HW or how all it takes is someone tall to beat him.

MAYBE, just MAYBE, Gustafsson is a fucking elite LHW and he proved all you retards wrong and now you should SHUT THE FUCK UP and sing his praises instead of making it all about Jones.
 
I didn't watch this fight yet. But it's still telling when an underdog has a great fight against a top dog or champion, and instead of praising the underdog, it's about shitting on the top fighter and acting like he's super-mega overrated. It's that kind of stuff that kind of minimizes and dismisses the effort of the other guy fighting.

In any case, it sounds like this is a fight I need to watch sooner rather than later.
 
Very true. Thinking either fighter DOMINATED is insane. That house came down to the difference of a **** hair, what a fight. I despised Jones before, I gained a lot of respect for him tonight, he took his beating like a man. That being said hats off to Gus and I think he got it
 
I just loved the fight. Both guys are obviously a head above the Pride generation in every way. I think Gus takes the rematch.
 
Gus is incredible.

Seriously what a fight that was, both guys deserve an insane amount of credit for that.

Yeah, that's the thing. Their hate for Jones seems to make them more intent on dragging down Jones off his pedestal rather than elevate Gus to elite consideration. It comes off as extremely dismissive of Gus's ability in that sense Like someone said in another topic, maybe Gus is just that much better than Jones' previous opponents rather than 'OMG JONES REALLY IS JUST A STUPID CANCRUSHER!!!'
 
Great post, TS. The Jones hatred on here seems all encompassing.

Gus fought great. I was, by far, the most impressed with his takedown defense. Most everyone, including me, who thought Jones would win figured he'd take him down easily. Gus mostly stayed out of the greco clinches or broke free and Jon didn't even try shooting. The right guy still won the decision but I never thought he'd have to win a standup battle to do it.
 
It was a VERY competitive, high paced fight for the LHW championship. When was the last time that happened?

How could anyone bring themselves to bash either one of these guys?
 
It's Sherdog. What else would you expect. Great fight by both man. FOTY candidate imho.

Had it 49-46 Jones, might need to rewatch Round 3 but Jones easily bagged 2, 4 and 5.
 
Gus made a fan of me tonight, Jones is a fucking great fighter and Gus did better against him than anyone ever has, very impressed with his tdd and boxing.

Thank you. I knew the odds were off. And yeah, a large part of this forum really is pathetic.
 
I was one of the guys that said Jones is better everywhere and he'll easily dominate Gus

I was wrong, Gus is a beast and I had him winning :/
