Where did you live while saving? Rent on the island is pretty high. Basically I just think you're full of shit. Too many holes in your story. Unless you're like 40 and saved for 20 years someone was supporting you.

You obviously don't know how to manage money, live simply, or delay gratification. How did I save money? 1. I drove a very old good on gas car for years(still do!). 2. I bought clothes rarely and when I did it was at thrift stores or on consignment. 3. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. 4. I cooked all my meals. No eating out and searched sales always. 4. I set up my banking so 500/mo was taken off my cheque every month before it hit my account. 5. I took OT as much as possible 6. I didn't take an "away" vacation for 1O years. I went on local trips that. Pat very little (hiking/camping etc). 7. Didn't have a cell phone for a very long time. 8. Used a very old computer, when that died I went without or used the ones at the public library. 9. I walked or biked to work when weather was good to save on gas

The list goes on. ANYONE can do this if they have discipline, and aren't caught up in having a bunch of toys to feel happy.

No cats lol. I have a lovely social life. I like to cook and invite friends often. I like to play guitar and hike. Both fun social activities. Not everyone associates "fun social life" with getting loaded and eating at restaurants. If you are eating out, smoking/drinking and being "social" in a way that's prevents you from paying for your own housing, mooching off parents...you're priorities are twisted. And honestly, I don't care if you "believe" that i bought a house.

I'm assuming your parents didn't pay for your college classes, that's fine.
But some parents do and they look at it as an investment to see their very own children succeed with out them having to worry about bullshit student loans for the next years because they love them.
My father doesn't want me to pay him back he just wants to see me succeed .
It's not a hard concept to understand you just seem bitter.

I pay him back by trying to succeed cause that's what he wants . Not the money back . and when I have a son I'll put money into him too.

So your philosophy is if a family has money they shouldn't give their kids any . That's flawed and counterproductive . They worked their asses off so they can give their family a good life not throw their kids to the wolves and start from scratch .(student loans etc..)

Are you still in college? If yes than sure, live at home. If your parents paid for your school that's great. That's not what we are talking about here. We are talking about a grown ass MAN who's not in school and presumably employed living with the parents for free so he can "live the life he's accustomed to". That's total BS.
