Nonstop pressure, relentless pace, breaks and finishes guys. Gregor has only gone to decision twice in his career like Jiri. And the only way to beat them is basically putting them out like Mo did to Jiri or Lee did to Gregor otherwise they're on your ass like a honey badger and in your face the whole fight and won't stop till you or them is finished.

Gregor is the rare kill or be killed grappler since many fight safely and coast on positions but he does the complete opposite. Jiri obviously is a wildman with his striking.

Meh

Most great LWs have good TDD
Very few fighters can defend ninja samurai striking

He gets two more fights, loses both, goes fishing. He’s too small for low and can’t cut to face. Takes way too many shots and a decently sized lw will rag doll him.

LOL, not Askren.

Why not?

He walked Lawler down, took him down, took his back then choked him in ynder 3 mins...after being concussed.

That's the very definition of "relentles" and "have to be shut off to lose" etc.

Askren really brings it outta people...to the point where they lose all objectivity and analytical skill.

He did lose to jake paul tho

LOL I've seen Jiri be compared to Tony Ferguson, Conor, Chuck Liddell and no Gillespie? Shertards have taken over

He had plenty of earlier fights that were definitely not "relentless." The Jay Hieron match for example. Lawler was completely spent, and arguably the fight could've been stopped as he was beating on Askren. It was pretty much Brock vs. Carwin Round 2 after Lawler ran out of gas.

The fucker is wasting his prime years by not fighting often. How does he get by? What's his real job?

That was 10 years ago, only 2 years into his career. Askren went into MMA with only his wrestling and didn't know GNP at that point. Khabib was similar, they both had a lot of decision wins early on. Later on Askren learned GNP and got good at submissions.

Also Ferreira was completely spent against Gillespie as well so not sure why you're mentioning that.

Ferguson does not, neither does Oliveira, Chandler got taken down and controlled by Brooks. Conor obviously doesnt have great tdd. Cdf just got grapple fucked by Gillespie. Dariush doesnt have great tdd. So yea not true all have great tdd.

So what you're saying is he's nothing like Jiri.

He was completely relentless against Jay Heiron. Passed his guard multiple times and never stopped shooting/tryinv to clunch. Heiron was a D1 wrestler himself. and was able to stuff/get back up.

It'd be like saying Khabib wasn't relentless against Tibau or Pat Healy. Sometimes the other guy is a good wrestler himself.

Lawler ran outta gas after a slam and 5 or so GnP shots???? Been 5 rounds in wars how many times???

I suspect you never watched Askren-Heiron btw.

That’s the way a lot of wrestlers are period. It’s a sport that thrives on pressure
