How does this play out
My money is on Thompson by decision, but Burns does have one shot KO power — aka ‘the great equalizer’.
Burn's boxing defense is kind of non existent. If he was getting dropped by Usman I see Wonderboy putting in work on him. He has to take him down early.
Seems like a usual striking clinic for WB. Burns has speed and power, but WB is taller and does his thing from range. Has the cardio and repetition to do the same stuff for as long as needed. Burns should try to go for TD's.
If Wonderboy hasn't fallen off a cliff, he'll pick him apart. Burns could KO him like Pettis did, so there is always a chance.
Hoping WB wins this and finally gets another title shot
WB by dominant decision and then a well deserved TS!
I think Wonderboy TKO or KO's him. Burns chin was looking pretty soft last fight
I’m surprised Burns took this fight coming off a big KO loss
I think WB catches Gilbert and T(KO) him. Gilbert has power, but idt he will land well on WB. and GB doesn't seem to take hits too well
War Giblert, but sadly i think WB picks him apart.
Burns has good power but his best chance is on the ground where he would have a big advantage. He's a BJJ world champion after all.
F burns. Hope he never wins again
Burns takes it, either by KO or submission.
Meh this fight doesnt matter cause Colby will get the next shot over them anyways.
Unless burns gets him down he's getting ko'd - his stand up is basically a winging overhand right.
Burns via anyway he wants in this one. Just needs to be patient
The UFC have skipped over Colby once and I'm sure they'll do it again. Colby gets Masvidal if he loses next week, and if Masvidal wins they're most likely doing the Usman trilogy.
The fact that they're feeding Nate to Leon tells me they're ready to give Leon a title shot, but he just needs more name recognition so they're giving him a W the casuals know. And if Wonderboy beats Burns he's definitely ahead of Colby (Luque, Neal, Burns > washed Woodley).
So yeah, even though I want to see the Usman-Colby rematch, I really don't think he's getting it this year.
