Gilbert Burn's meteoric rise reminds me of RDA's rise in LW.

Both were written off as mediocre contender with no chance at Belt, Burns a LW failure with KO loss to fighters like Hooker & RDA's losses to journeymen like Clay Guida & Who the fuck is that guy. Bruns still hasn't captured WW belt, but he is a complete fighter who will pose challenge to anyone. Hopefully we are going to witness another fairytale like title run.

For the love of God, google "meteor" and then don't use "meteoric rise" to describe Burns' career.

I remember guys were so salty about RDA winning and immediately threw PED accusations against him

He was really good. Dominated a former champ in both striking and grappling

Hopefully these Burns worship threads will stop in a few days.

RDA is one of the most underrated fighters. I see the complete package reference in Burns. He’s fun to watch too.

So you are saying people shouldn't show their excitement about an up & coming MMA fighter on an MMA forum?

You already said it yourself: he got starched by Dan Hooker. He's not exciting at all. He's the Anthony Smith of the WW division. He also seems like a real dick.

BJJ fighters who learn muay thai are fun to watch. Oliveira, Burns, RDA, Werdum.

A 38 yr old fighter with kickboxing background is old in fight years. 38 isn't old for wrestlers/bjj guys in MMA. And he's only 30 fights deep, stopped once and probably been in war 2-3x. Tyron's physically good just mentally fragile.

Burns is firing on all cylinders and IMO is championship ready. Still have Usman and Colby as slight favorites over him

Burns is so exciting to watch and has a complete mma game. His past two performances and the tenacity/confidence he is operating on make him a serious threat

Yup. He is a bad matchup for a lot of people and beats the very best if they're not on point and he is.

He lost to a top 5 LW two years ago? Guess he's not that good then!
