After Gall gave up position with that unsuccessful guillotine choke in round 1, Sage had top position.

Gall got out of it by having the flexibility while on his back of wrapping his right leg vertical on Sage's left hamstring. When I saw it in real time, I was like wuttttttt how he do that.

Gall did have an underhook too, but he didn't have leverage until he got that right leg wrapped so that he could extend and threaten Sage's left leg. This forced Sage to give up top position.

I find BJJ stuff like this fascinating. Gall has very good length and flexibility and knows how to use it.

I also clearly remember BJM totally ignoring Pickett grabbing Faber's glove yesterday. And I was far from sober at that point.

You should never give room on your opponents hip in side control. Otherwise change your base. Amateur mistake right there.

    I noticed it too TS.

Pretty impressive leg dexterity and flexibility.

    Yep, that's an all-time classic.

Nick Diaz kept commenting before their fight how sloppy GSP's BJJ technique was. It hasn't hurt GSP given how good his wrestling and overall control are.

Will be very interesting to see GSP back in the cage, to see how he stacks up against today's elite WWs. Probably still 50-45's most of them.
