gi patch etiquette

That right there is a problem for me. When your art starts to become business like and about the money, it does nothing but erode the art in the long run imo.

When you open a business, the point is to make money. sure the school opens to teach bjj, but you can't pay the landlord in technique.

Most guys open schools so they can make money doing what they love...isn't that what most people want? can't blame these guys who have spent years training - most of them have spent more time training for this than people spend in college for a career.

I think the policy is stupid, but it's their business and it's their rules.

Btw, I think patches in general are dumb.

but nobody asked. :)

This.

But then I'm another Judo guy primarily. We usually only care about the patch that says "USA"...

its already been said but if you arent proud to wear the patch, go find a new place

What's the policy on putting the patch on the inside of your gi?

That sounds like more of a slap in the face than not wearing it at all!

I don't like patches at all, will never wear one without a requirement and always look for the "cleanest" Gi I can get, but that's probably more of a reaction against guys who seem to wear a patchwork quilt of the dang things to look cool. C'mon guys... it's not NASCAR!
