So I have become 100% focused on training and it's has gone well.due to me having previous bjj I have been thrown to the wolves for the past two weeks I haven't fought one white belt few blues but mainly purples and blacks and to say I have been fighting for my life is an understatement beating after beating. Now I'm a big guy so losing in physical events is something new to me my main question is when does it get a lil easier to get offensive or feel like I'm more than just a rag doll?

It never ends! Even if you get past the guys who are killing you now, there will be others to take their places. There's always a bigger fish. And that's a good thing... when you're the "king of the hill" it is hard to improve. There's nowhere but down from the summit, the real pleasure comes by climbing the face of jiu-jitsu. Ryan Hall once said there's a level even beyond world champion. It never ends.

Listen to Jimmy. You're always gonna have people that can kick your ass. However, if you just started and are getting your ass kicked, YES, it gets easier. Honestly, take the time to work on your defenses and escapes. Don't do what I, and a lot of others do, and only think about offense. My escapes are terrible and it's because I looked past them when I started, and I'm having to unlearn dumbass mistakes I should never have made in the first place.

Keep open communication and always ask people after class, "How did you do that? What was that? What would you do to counter/defend/escape from that position or submission? etc." Be very vocal and proactive to take control of your own learning process and people will be eager to help you. Just keep showing up and working hard, and you'll break through those glass ceilings...even if your glass ceiling is only one foot tall right now.

man, i thought it would never end..... then some new dudes walked into our gym :P

You are a white belt? You mentioned the guys you are fighting are blues and up? That's the reason man. The closer you get to blue the closer your fights with those guys will get.

I can beat most whites and keep new blue belts from beating me but high blues and up forget it! When should I notice a big difference in my game!

Have you asked yourself why they are feeding to the higher belts?

Lol sorta and I thinks it one of two reasons a either they feel it would make me better or b due to the fact that I can beat all other white belts (no in not bragging alot of it is do to size they don't wanna discourage folks

It never ends and thank god because what's the point if ur not getting better, once u get to the top the only way u can go is down

I totally agree with drew, when you get beat and you dont know why, it is very important to find out why, if u don't ask, u will learn slower and receive more ass beatings, every tap should be followed by a discussion
