I played football in high school and i loved it so much that i used to get pumped/adrenaline/butterflies before games and even practice. i have been doing jj/grappling for about 4 years and lately i have been getting pumped/adrenaline/butterflies a few hours before class/open mat.

    does anyone else experience this?

I have lessons in like thirty minutes, but I've been pumped/excited/nervous about it for almost three hours now, haha.

I've been training for three years and I still get excited to roll. Funny because I'm actually pretty lazy to train with I usually just try to match energy and work technique. I think actually pretty important because it keeps bjj interesting.

I am all riled up afterwards, can never get to sleep on a decent time

especially after comps, I always think I will lose because I think I have lousy cardio (for a big boy it is decent if not good) and then when I win I all all like "FUCK YEAH"

too bad my body doesn't match my mind, I have gone out celebrating after a comp win and it was a disaster :p

Could be worse. I know a guy who can't fall asleep UNLESS he works out before hand.

I think your body becomes dependent on the chemicals that working out produces or something. It's weird.

I took Thursday, Friday, Saturday off, and no class today, and I'm so anxious to get to class tomorrow. I might even skip a lecture and go to the mid-day class.

Now that you mention it, yeah. I sometimes sit in work and get all amped up thinking about training that night. I feel nothing at tournaments, I think I'm too afraid to let my adrenaline get out of control so I have a way of 'flat-lining', but yeah, I do sometimes get genuinely excited for training. Like now :icon_chee

I know what you mean. I get nervous before class sometimes. Seems silly but once I get into the warm up I calm down and relax more.

Competitions are another story. I definitely get anxious before them. I am hoping to do my first competition in a long time in early November. Want to get back into that world and overcome my anxiety with it.

I get pumped before tournaments but not class. Though many times after class where I had some heavy rolling I will be pumped and cant sleep for hours because i'm going over things I did in my head both good and bad.

    i'm the same way.

also i always have the urge to go number 2 about 45 minutes before training. it never fails. it's like my body knows i'm going to go through something tough and strenuous so it's better to feel good and cleaned out.
