Cain fought JDS a year ago & got knocked out in ONE minute, has had one fight since.. Nick Diaz lost his last fight.. Frankie Edgar has never fought at featherweight.. Chael Sonnen lost his last fight AND hasn't fought at 205 in years.. Is this not the most ridiculous culmination of title shots ever?

I know people will whine, tell me to stop complaining & enjoy the fights (because they are entertaining fights).. But I (like all fans should) want this to be a SPORT, not SPORTS-ENTERTAINMENT (WWE).. You won't see the Saints in the Super Bowl this year just because they're entertaining & you shouldn't see free championship fights given to the unworthy..

Junior should be taking just a few months more & fighting Overeem
Jones should be fighting Henderson like originally scheduled
GSP should be fighting Hendricks, who has now earned a title shot for the 3rd time
Aldo should be fighting KZ or Koch, Edgar should have to AT LEAST win 1 at 145

What's next? Anderson fighting Lombard for the title? Benson fighting Melendez? Cruz coming back to fight Faber (even if Urijah loses 6 straight)?... Dana, get it together.. The company's legitimacy is going to be tainted if things like this keep happening...

Edgar was the lightweight champion and he didn't need to make major changes to his physique to make FW.

LW is also way more competitive so he deserves his shot.

Imo, Melendez should fight someone like Pettis or Cerrone or Maynard for a shot.

I'm a firm believer that you should have to win one in the company or the weight class to justify a chance to hold the belt at that class.. I don't see how you can have all these guys training & fighting their asses off for years, trying to win enough fights to get a shot at the belt & then it gets taken away because some guy that never beat any of the top guys at that class gets it instead.. It's total bullshit, how can you think otherwise?

Yeh, I lost a lot of respect for Dana and the integrity of the UFC after trying to give the title fight to Chael... what a fucking disgrace after flat-out declaring that Chael would have to fight at least 3 tough fights in the division before he would even be looked at as a possible challenger.

I do wanna see GSP/Diaz though. Hendricks is way overhyped, imo--maybe has a 1 in 200 chance of beating GSP so that fight is super uninteresting.

    Listen,

Dana is just trying to save TUF with Chael v Jones.. it won't, regardless

Yes Melendez deserves to fight Bendo next

Diaz was a good match up for GSP, till we saw Bendo v Nate, Nick vs GSP will go the same way.

GSP would murder Hendricks, well decision him.. HARD lol

Cain is the only option with Vitaminreem out on suspension

I agree with everything except Cain situation. Cain had a win again already and Overeem fucked up his chance, so CAIN is the next logical choice.

Diaz doesnt deserve a shot, its only cuz GSP asked for it and he rarely asks so DANA doesnt want to upset his money maker. Frankie comes off a loss and SHOULDNT be fighting for title again and same with CHAEL. Fighting for Title after coming off loss is just STUPID. Like when Brett Rogers fought Overeem after getting KOs by Fedor, everyone knows FEDOR should have gotten that fight.

I have no problems with Cain/JDS II. Its gonna be totally different than the first fight. If this one ends with a JDS victory though, I don't want to see III.

The irony of Cain/JDS 2 is that if JDS has picked Cain apart like he did Carwin, this fight probably wouldn't be happening.

By getting such a quick KO, it makes people feel that if the fight had gone longer, things could've very well been different; especially since Cain didn't get much of a chance to implement most of what makes him such a great fighter.

Overeem's last two wins are Fabricio Werdum & Brock Lesnar, both in or around top 5 at the time.. Melendez last two wins are Thomson & Masvidal.. Both outside the top 20... There's a contradiction here?

Nop Melendez does not deserve to fight Bendo , he needs at least a win in the UFC and lost to Thomson in his last fight .

Also i believe Diaz should never be given the chance to fight GSP , he had the chance twice and quit , Im a fan of GSP and i believe Hendricks will give him more problems + Johnny deserves it .

The only "free title shots" here are:

    1. Sonnen
    2. Diaz

And to a much lesser extent, Edgar. However, Edgar is the most deserving one here, because a) he's the former LW champ and the #2 LW, b) He's moving down a weight class (not up, like Sonnen), c) he's better than any other FW challenger.

As to Cain, eventhough his rematch is a bit too soon after just one win, his win was a very impressive finish over a top 10 opponent. In addition, the best contender, Overeem, was suspended, so Cain vs. JDS made sense.

So I guess JDS should have fought with a handicap. Let Cain get a few takedowns? That way Cain can win and everyone can be happy..

The whole point of fighting is to impose your will. If you can't then that's tough shit. You lose.

People can think what they want but junior stuffed a takedown and beat Cain. The time is irrelevant.

Lesnar had not fought in over a year because of his medical issue and was practically irrelevant at the time. Thompson was the former SF champ & very underrated by casual fans. Bottom line is Melendez beat everyone SF had to offer plus Aoki. Overeem is coming back from being suspended for cheating.
