Dunno if people remember this. This is right after the heart thing with Holyfield and George was concerned he was gonna get hurt as Holyfield looked awful in round 5. Mouth wide open and taking big shots

You have to listen a little bit close though because George stands up without the mic on. I think Evander mentioned he had hepatitis or something like that and so his energy was up and down. Ended up dropping Bowe in the 6th, but lost by KO in Round 8

    Time stamped

There was a time where a bunch of heavyweights came down with hepatitis.

    Why was that?

He had a congenital heart condition when he fought Moore. His doctor said he basically went 12 rounds essentially in heart failure

Holyfield was way off in Moorer 1 and Bowe 3. Amazing that he bounced back and beat Tyson among many other accomplishments

I'd actually argue that Holyfield's peak came AFTER the Bowe trilogy.

Heart condition, PED usage.....I dunno. Evan Fields thought he could go off PEDs for Bobby Cyz (spelling), then popped them again for Tyson.

Holyfield is a fighter I really want to like, but his PED suspicions are ridiculous.

His performance peak, not his physical peak.

    Holyfield's best wins:
    1. Bowe
    2. Tyson I
    3. Tyson II
    4. Ruiz
    5. Foreman
    6. Rahman
4 of those 6 came AFTER the Bowe trilogy.

Evander was the kind of a guy who would punch himself out but recover fast. The first Moorer fight was really the only time he didn't recover. He just stayed gassed.

Losing the third fight to Bowe, takes some shine off of Holyfield's legacy, in my opinion. Bowe at that point was mostly just a brawler who became easier and easier to hit, and out-maneuver. Employing the same strategy as the 2nd fight, where Holyfield beat a much better version of Bowe, should have gotten the job done. Instead he elected to brawl with a much bigger man, and got stopped for it.

Holyfield blew it, just a year later Bowe would get smashed around the ring by Golota twice, whereas Holyfield beat Tyson twice (and looked very good in doing it). All things considered, he should have won that one.
