Gentlemen, do we all agree that Machida was winning both Rockhold and Romero fights

until he got Subbed/KOD?
first finish-->was the result of a slip and subsequent damage that came from the gnp, which basically resulted in Machida being out of the fight even though he managed to live to the next round
second finish-->he was outworking and outstriking Yoel even though the Cuban's shots did seem more powerful. Then he get tripped and taken down and Yoel starts hitting him like he was gonna kill him: you can't be that fierce and bloody after being all cute and laughing it off after cage jump-off punches, and touching gloves every minute or two.

In my eyes Machida was the better fighter techniquewise in both fights, he was just outmuscled and outpowerd by two huge MW's. Machida has a relatively small build, he always looks small and skinny next to big guys, his wins mostly come from being very technical, precise and smart. I think going down to WW would be a good move for him, what do you guys think?

Nope. Rockhold destroyed him.
Romero/Machida was close until Romero smashed him on the ground.

Machida is no longer a top fighter but he still is a very good fighter.

He got absolutely wrecked in both fights.

What about a third Machida era at WW?

With Romero it could have gone either way. It's not like Machida was catching him with every counter; it was more old school evading than counter striking.

As for Rockhold, first round was decided when the fight was bought to the ground. So Machda wasn't winning that ether

Nah bro we got eyes, which we used to watch the fight. Get some eyes guy!

People seem to completely forget first couple minutes of the Rockhold fight. Machida was definitely getting the better of every exchange (even though there weren't that many prior to the knockdown/slip). Rockhold destroyed him on the ground, but if that fight stays standing the whole time I'm confident Mahcida would have picked him apart.

This, my favorite fighter is Machida and he is not the same as he was a year or two ago. Still good, just not elite as he was gis entire career.

Yeah, and Shogun was winning Jones fight until that knee landed.

You're right TS, Machida was owning Rockhold before the sub.
He was almost killing Luke when he got him on his no guard.

The only outcome that matters in the end, is the final result. Stop putting a glimmer of hope in Chida for the future. He lost to two top MWs. It's likely he is done competing for the title now. Lyoto has been in 5 title fights, he's had his chance to shine on multiple occasions.

Ummmm Machida was barely conscious coming out of the first round against Rockhold. How in the hell can you be so delusional to think he was winning that fight.

Are you crazy? Machida got fucked pretty bad on the 1st round against Rock
