UFC on FOX Facebook page just posted this, interesting read. Would be cool to see GGG in the UFC!

"Gennady Golovkin is more than an undefeated middleweight boxing champion - he's also a former grappler who is a fan of MMA and the UFC. According to Kazakhstan-born fighter, he grew up with a lot of wrestler friends, who brought him along to the gym when he was a youngster.

"Yeah, I can [wrestle]," he recently told FightHubTV.

"A lot of my friends wrestled. [I trained grappling for] five, seven years. Just a little bit of practice. I just went with my friends to the gym - grappling, just wrestling.

"I love judo, I love grappling, I love jiu-jitsu."

As an elite boxer with an appreciation for grappling, Golovkin's choice of a favorite UFC fighter seems fitting. "Cain Velasquez," he said, when asked to name some of his favorite MMA athletes.

"He is a good puncher. He is very compact. He's strong. He's very smart. He's a good fighter. He's a warrior."

Golovkin says he also admires former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, though the Rowdy one may not be a good training partner for the boxer. "Ronda is too strong for me," he said, with a smile.

"She's powerful."

Given his top-notch boxing and at least passing familiarity with grappling, Golovkin wouldn't rule out his one day competing in MMA, and the UFC. "Maybe," he concluded.

Golovkin next fights April 23, against Dominic Wade at The Forum in Inglewood, CA."

Well it would be interesting, but he has already mastered his sport. He has a series of great fights waiting for him.

I think hes too old to make that transition, but he can do great things in boxing still

Too old to make the transition and it's a damn shame considering if he fought for the UFC they'd put a hype machine behind him and get his PPV sales up by a lot and nobody would be able to duck him.

Love this guy. Would be cool to see him transition over, but its too late in my opinion and he is at the top of his profession. Hoping we see him fight Canelo and Ward in the near future.

Honestly have never heard of the guy until recently. No offense or anything, I just don't follow boxing.

Cain is a bad example to use.
I would use Weidman,Werdum, Bones, or, RocksCocks.

yeah but can he cut to 155..........

im joking

I think it would be awesome if they brought him in easy and gave him time to adapt, rather than making a tired example out of him to diss boxing.

It would be cool seeing that left hook hit the LW division!

just found out he's half Korean. wow

You should look him up. I think he is well on his way to being the greatest 160lb boxer ever.

Considering Ward just moved up to 175 and GGG is a smallish MW I doubt that ever happens.

Hard not to be a fan of GGG. A killer in the ring, a true gentleman outside of it. I don't watch a lot of boxing, but I never miss a GGG fight. I doubt he ever competes in MMA, but it's awesome to see the respect he has for MMA competitors.

War Big Drama Show!

I suggest you look him up my friend. He's arguably one of the most exciting boxers in the sport today. He is on a 21 ko streak right now. He not only has power, he has excellent ring generalship with a ton of skill. What I like about him is he isn't one of those boxers who act like he is the best ever and talks shit about his opponents. He's very laid back guy who just wants to give his fans a show.
