Gegard should have been given the title shot

Don't get wrong Bisping deserved a title shot before rides off but lets be realistic the Moose was the one who should have been given the shot. I think Luke would have beat Gegard as well but it would have been alot more interesting fight.

Gegard has been very hot-and-cold throughout his UFC run, and unlike Bisping (who has also underperformed against elite-level competition), does not have the recognizable name nor the wolf-ticket-salesman skills required to hype up a short-notice fill-in title fight.

Mousasi got knocked out by a guy who's never been able to crack the top 10 just 6 months ago, there's no way to spin it where he actually deserves it, he needs to stop being looked at as some mythical contender, he'll never be more than a gatekeeper.

Bisping had a FOTN win over Silva to cap off a three fight win streak. That's way more deserving than a KO loss sandwiched between two underwhelming, conservative performances.

Bisping is the easy sell right now. They can give him his title shot and not have to worry about him anymore. They know Luke destroyed him once already and probably will again. Plus Bisping can sell the fight on short notice . Moussasi and Jacare were too risky, each deserves a title shot and both will get it soon but for right now this is the easiest fight to make
