You have to know a thing or two about MMA to understand why Jacare tagged Kelvin so much and why Kelvin didn’t use as much head movement as in the past.

It’s called the threat of the takedown. Gastelum kept his hands low and stayed squared with Jacare to stuff the takedown. As hard as Jacare punches, he is 100x more dangerous on the ground.

Same reason that Jake Shields outstrikes good strikers and Khabib can beat someone with his chin sticking straight in the air.
