This smells like fake news.

First off, both Usyk and Gassiev are contracted to face each other next as per the tournament rules. If one of them is unable to face the other, due to injury or whatnot, then they'll be replaced by someone from the tournament i.e. Briedis or Dorticos.

2nd off, Usyk has just recently come out and said he'll fight Gassiev anywhere. Maybe that posturing, but I'm guessing someone enticed him enough to fight in Russia.

3rd, this is Boxingtalk... one of the most unreliable boxing sites out there.
