California will do what? When? People have been predicting the collapse of California for a couple decades now. Nothing has happened yet.

Yeah, I haven't been to Gary Indiana before, but from what I've seen on TV change would be good for the city I imagine.

IMO there's no way to turn Gary around until they make it smell better.

It won't exactly collapse but the divide between rich and poor is only going to get larger. Public schools and infrastructure are terrible, for a state with so much money and fanfare.

Fat chance. These people never learn. They'll keep voting blue and destroy whichever state they flee to.

    It's a low IQ cycle.

You guys better hope these destroyed places keep bailing out red states with their federal tax dollars. If these states are disasters while often having budget surpluses, what does that say about red states that are constantly ran into the ground by Republican economic policy?

I would call the conservative disdain for education and higher learning far more "Low IQ" than voting for democrats, but that's me.

Yea I'd say it's pretty low IQ to go into debt just to let some idiot Marxist tell you that you're racist.

Good luck with that gender studies degree.

Political parties? LOL, not even God can save Gary Indiana now.

You could literally say the same thing about a lot of industry driven towns that went to shit after the 60's or 70's... East St. Louis, Camden, NJ, Flint, MI, etc. There's really nothing any politician can really do if there's no jobs and zero tax revenue coming. It would take a miracle from the outside to do anything meaningful. Most people leave, some stay, but sooner or later these places will turn into ghost towns.

I have, my dad lived there in a trailer for a long time and died there. I hadn't seen him since I was four, but my half brother and sister invited me to his funeral. So I drove down from Chicago and went to the service.

Luckily I left before night time. I used to go the strip clubs and casinos in Hammond and would fuck around the neighboring towns. Scary place to be at night, let me tell you.

No collapse but it will end up something like this down the road:
