Social Gary Indiana hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 1943.

The people telling you that are wrong, as you can see from the data on deficit spending.

Again, no. And you could easily look this up.

2000-2002: Republican House / even Senate
2003-2005: Republican House / Republican Senate
2006-2007: Republican House / Republican Senate

Probably because a mayor isnt a Governor and doesnt have the power to cut amazon the sweetheart deal they want

I wasnt endorsing republicans or democrats in the last post I made I was simply pointing out the mayors dont have all that much power in how states and the country as a whole runs

Im also not sure letting companies extort states for the promise of 10 dollar an hour jobs is the best policy

Amazon chose Gary cause the city of Gary offered them to use their airport at a discounted rate. I think.
I don’t know if the mayor made that deal or what though.

Also $15 an hour starting pay with OT is the new thing among warehouses. It’s been becoming a lot more common since all these people started protesting and bitching about a $15 an hour minimum wage.

I’m a general labor worker. I pay attention to this stuff.

Also don’t forget Unions. Trade workers make outstanding money. Like some electricians make $60 an hour. 90/hr overtime..!

If some carpenter and construction unions focused on rebuilding Gary, Flint, Detroit, Cleveland, etc. they would have LOTS upon LOTS of work for them..

It was actually mixed pretty much throughout Bush’s two terms.. Guess Republicans had slight control most of the time.

Alright deficit is one thing. For example, deficit has increased since Trump took office from Obama.

GDP rate had also doubled though when Trump took over as president.

So who’s better with money and the economy? Well I’ve always heard Conservatives.

Both parties seem to have their good and bad though.

You have to have a workforce that wants to show up on time and work for their money. No sense going into a town or city and setting up shop when you cannot find good workers.

Well those cities have majority black people.

I’ve met plenty of good black workers along with plenty of shitty ones. You don’t need to be smart to work in a warehouse though. You can be a dumbass and usually get away with it.

I’ve heard you don’t need to be that smart to learn a Union trade either. Just show up and legitimately try and you’ll be ok.

People at the Gary steel mill told me to apply for the trade jobs such as Railroad Electrician. I told them I had no experience. They said “It’s ok. We train people. And we’ve trained some fricken morons before..”

I can’t imagine a union trade being THAT hard if someone is constantly tutoring you.

Some unions require a HS diploma or GED. They’ll check for it too.

That might be a problem for Gary people, where dropping out of school is normal.

Maybe an army of reporters should descend on diners in Gary to report on their economic anxiety kinda like they are constantly doing with working class white voters?

If you want to have questions answered honestly, you need to ask them honestly. Otherwise people will think you are a hack and treat you like one.

That's not actually true about the GDP though. Obama had several years of similar growth.

Also, in answer to TS, once a place has been one-party for decades, there’s no point in voting for the other party. The other party has no connections, no influence, and is populated with weirdos lacking in ambition.

It’s like when I was growing up in the deep south. You were either a Democrat or you just avoided politics altogether.
