Garbage McDonald performance

You can say he got caught or whatever, but that was a crap performance from McDonald. More to the point, it was crap preparation. Did he not watch video of Lineker throwing hooks from his heels? McDonald was only too willing to engage a 6" shorter fighter with a slight reach disadvantage. Why, I have no idea. It's like he had no respect for Lineker's power at all. There were early exchanges that left me thinking "McDonald better not eat one of those". Sure enough.

Lineker is far from a technical striker and McDonald didn't seem to have a plan to stop from getting out-brawled. He's young yet, so hopefully he will learn from this one.
 
Awesome Lineker perfomance.
 
Not giving much respect to John Hands of Nokia Phones Lineker.
 
A sub by McDonald in the second would have won me a small fortune.

Lineker didn't just fight like a brawler he used amazing ringwork to keep cutting mayday off and pressing him to the fence
 
McDonald's #1 problem is that he trains in a small AF camp in the middle of nowhere and trains with his brothers and a bunch of nobodies. I don't see how anyone expects to succeed at this level with that kind of training. Alpha Male is close by but full of killers in his weight class, guys he probably ought to be fighting. AKA isn't known for smaller guys but at least he'd have championship level coaching.

Was unaware of this. He's seems like a good kid with talent and some time. I hope he makes the right adjustments to get to the elite level.

He is a solid ring cutter, but he still throws wide, sloppy punches. It's gonna get him in trouble with a rangier striker that actually has the power to hurt him
 
Fight reminded me so much of back when JDS murdered Stefan Struve. I knew it was coming had $200 on Lineker in r1, they cant handle him. Outside the top 2 in Cruz/Dillashaw they cant handle him.
 
I like McDonald a lot, but he's overrated. His TDD is not good at all and he's more of a puncher than a skilled striker. And the most important thing is he's not improving, at all. He desperately needs to find a new camp, he's too talented to plateau this early.
 
No bacne McDonald is a completely different fighter IMO.
 
michael mcdonald is the most inconsistent fighter in the UFC
 
Lineker is far more technical than Mayday and better everywhere . Mayday is living off fighting for the title when BW was weak and about to go into a transitional period he's not that good a fighter
 
I'm a huge McDonald fan

and I was having major bad feels watching his fight yesterday

In my sad-to-say honest opinion, he hasn't looked the same since losing to Barao and Faber

Kid has such ridiculous potential too, hope he can come back stronger
