Just watched it on Netflix, for the first time since I saw it at the cinema and have to say, its one of the GOAT films. DDL and Leo were fuckin great, per usual.

Unreal film and a great insight into how the Irish were treated when they set foot in New York. Its shy of 3 hours long but it's well worth it for anyone that's not watched it yet

DDL knocked it out of the park.
Great cameo by Liam Neeson.
Gleason, John C Reilley, and Gary Lewis all put in very good performances.
Leo and Cameron were vanilla, but also smart enough not to attempt to out-act DDL.
Good production by Scorsese.
Good story, but drags on longer than it needs to. Ending felt anti-climactic.
8/10.

Dunno, her Irish accent actually wasn't that bad. Plus she looked good as a ginge

She was terrible from what I remembered. She hasn't looked good since The Mask and hasn't been in anything worth watching since There's something about mary.

She was ok in Vanilla Sky

What kind of comparison is that lol
Tons of people thought it was too slow and gave up after 2 episodes, just like that fella that didn't finish GONY. Both are slow burners but so is The Godfather, you just have to get with the story building

She was solid, thought she did the Irish accent justice. Very tough for a yank pull off, just ask Richard Gere or Tommy Cruise

Yeah I can see where you're coming from now. I get that but those type of films have my interest so I don't mind the slow burn just as long there's a big kaboom.

By all means light-years better than anything I could do but still she was the weak link of the film. Daniel day Lewis was just on another level in that movie so maybe when you have such great superior acting, your co stars wont look as good in the film. Either way I wasn't a fan of her.

Well, even if there wasn't I'd respect it more. Michael clipped the copper in the bathroom and Sonny got clipped by the NYPD. For a movie regarded as the GOAT, I wouldn't say there was a big kaboom in part 1 or 2

Michaels scene in the restaurant/bathroom is one of my favorite scenes in cinema. The big kaboom was the ending where Michael gets rid of all his enemies and then shuts the door on Kate. One of the best endings in film I think.

Part 2 is a film I could watch everyday and never get tired of it. Both films along with good bad & ugly are my favorite films.

If ya wanna see Day Lewis' best performance, watch 'My Left Foot' or 'In the name of the father' His performance in 'There will be blood' is also up there

I watched it in the theater when it first came out. I remember holding my pee in for like the last hour. Such an awesome movie, DDL just killed it......
