If we are following GRRM Formula here wouldnt he actually kill the mountain, since the obvious thing here is too kill tyrion and the red viper.

More like the Red Viper would kill the Mountain effortlessly without breaking a sweat then slip on an empty beer mug and end up getting impaled by a spectator's sword...

That was the idea...to bring her to her rich Aunt Lysa hoping for ransom money in return.

It woulda been funny if the hound and Arya were almost there, camped out wherever items/bitches dropped out of that moon door might land, in mid-sentence saying something like:

"when I ransom you to your Aunt, you'll never have to see me again...."

honestly Stevie Wonder could see that Oberyn was going to be Tyrions champion once it was clear the Mountain would be Cersei's.

LOL the name of episode 8 is the Mountain and the Viper. All anyone had to do was read it.

That would cause a ripple effect of changes that would need to be made - so not so easy a fix. Better to keep it simple, and cast the best fit for the already written role - Statham.
