Television HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (Renewed for Season 2, post #571)

Does anyone care?,

Nope I used to regularly rewatch seasons.. have read the books.. fell asleep listening to podcasts on the show/books etc.. it was obvious from s5 onwards it struggled without source material.. I was pissed how Stannis was handled.. but it was still a good show for the most part..

But since the ending/S8 I never looked back.. it was that bad.. probably won't even read the next book (if it ever comes out) oh well George made his money so who gives a fuck

So we should expect to see something actually on screen by 2024?

without being directly based on written material or GRRM himself this will be shit... see GoT season 6-8

GRRM wrote himself into a corner and knew he didn't have a good ending. It's easy to see from earlier story lines that he isn't good at ending them. He was happy to tell them his thoughts on the ending so they could take the blame.

As someone who writes, you don't know the ending until you write it. And the more books a series is the more chance you have.

But say the events are the same. Like J kills D and etc... GRRM writing that can actually be really good. He might have said how it ended and they MIGHT have changed it or not. But it is all the scenes that make up the rest of the story he could not tell them as they are not fleshed out by him yet.

Just remake GOT and change the final seasons. They remae movies and games, why not TV Shows?

Game of Thrones Prequel HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Casts Paddy Considine in Lead Role

ArEQzDm.jpg

HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series is heating up. Following an extensive casting search, The Outsider star Paddy Considine has been tapped to topline straight-to-series drama House of the Dragon.

Based on Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 300 years before the events of the recently concluded fantasy drama and tells the story of the house Targaryen.

Considine will star as King Viserys Targaryen, chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather's legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for great kings.

Picked up straight to series in October 2019, the 10-episode series is co-created by Martin and Ryan Condal (USA Network's Colony). Condal will pen the script alongside Sara Lee Hess and serve as co-showrunner alongside Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik. The latter will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Exec producers include Martin, Condal, Sapochnik, Vince Gerardis and Hess.

Considine's credits include HBO's The Outsider as well as The Third Day, Journeyman, Peaky Blinders, Hot Fuzz, Dead Man's Shoes, In America and The Ferryman. He's repped by Independent Talent Group and Range Media Partners.

He doesn't look kingly. He does look like a paddy...

From what I've seen, he's never had the ending in sight, per se. Seems like he starts and ends with the characters, then the world organically fills itself out around them. I always assumed that's why he's always gone with the pov style.

He needs to hit the buffet table to play Viserys I. He was one of the more well-fed Targaryens.
