I definitely saw an improvement in his standup, and from his performance tonight I could see how his loss against Diego was probably a fluke since he didn't gas as hard, but Perry's domination of him doesn't bode well for his future in this org.

Perry is barely at gatekeeper status, has lost 5 out of his last 8 fights, and he trounced Gall in every respect - striking, grappling, you name it.

I don't think Gall has what it takes to succeed. He should seriously consider calling it quits before he takes a serious beating. He'll prob get cut first tho.

Thoughts?

Mickey gall hasn't beat a UFC caliber fighter yet. I honestly don't even think he can make it in bellator.

Nah.

Perry isn't gatekeeper, he gave Luque an even decision, and Luque is top 15, maybe top 10.
Gall is top 50 WW, his standup looked good, his grappling is decent, his gastank sucks though.

Perry is a hard fight for anyone.
Gall can stay as a prelim fighter in my books, he is decent.

his stand up was much improved though and I think this was the best version of Micky gall we’ve seen

Bellator's WW division isn't much worse than UFC's WW division. They're pretty close talent wise.
No its not lol. There is no division in Bellator that is close to UFC from top to bottom, although I'm not counting HW, which just sucks.

Douglas Costa could potentially be a UFC champ. Koreshkov and Larkin could be top 5. Fitch, Page and Daley could be top 10 in the UFC. Those divisions are pretty close strength wise.

Diaz and Chiesa are ranked in the UFC top 10 for christ's sake. Masvidal and Edwards are 3rd and 4th.

Just go beyond top 10 and you will see the disparity. Douglas Costa, Koreshkov etc are pretty good, but I have doubts they can do anything with fighters the caliber of Usman and the rest.
Where Bellator really sucks is outside the top, the low rank to unranked fighters are just pathetic. Most of their cards are unwatchable because many fights are regional level on quality.

I agree. He seems to be improving pretty fast, he is simply coming from a low base. Nothing wrong witht hat, as ling as he keeps improving he should keep getting fights.

What's a good fight for him next?

Gall is another prospect whose career got fucked up by being pushed into the UFC too fast.

Dana should've let him go back to the regional circuit after he beat CM Punk.

Mickey "The Gimmick" Gall will call out Artem for some bare knuckle

Gall still only has 9 career MMA fights. He's a bit over his head fighting in the UFC at this point.

He still has potential. It would serve him best to go to another org for a couple years and get 6-8 more fights under his belt before coming back to the UFC. Getting cut at this point would probably be the best thing for his career.

Perry also came in 4 years ago a wild, green prospect who was pushed into the top talent early. Dude was fighting Ponzininbio who had 29 pro fights compared to Perry’s 13. Since then Perry fought other top 15 fighters in Felder, Cerrone, Luque and Neal.

You kidding me bro? That’s a lineup of KILLERS. Dude hasn’t had an easy road. He’s been losing fights to technical strikers like Jouban, Griffin, Luque, etc. I think he was a wild, unorthodox style that high level technical strikers can expose.

but one thing he showed tonight is man he can wrestle and avoid submissions too. Mickey is no slouch on the mat and he was ragdolled by Perry multiple times.

He does need to get with a real camp in south Florida and train with some real killers. Work on his grappling and work on becoming a more technical striker instead of a wild brawler.

Either way Perry is an entertainer and everyone tunes in to watch him fight so idk where your narrative is coming from. Dude is solid.
