Gaethje's grappling was pretty bad last time we saw it, can he improve it enough?

I'm sure he's improved but I don't think you can ever reach Khabib level grapplng unless you were trained from the cradle.

I don't want to say Gaethje has no chance though that would be stupid considering what Khabib is going through and what Gaethje did to Tony.

At least he defended the takedown right before he did that lol

Huge fan of Justin. But I see him ending up on his ass a lot in this fight...I think Khabib beats him easy.

How good is Brian Cobb's ground game though? Anyone got any background info on the guy?

Calf kicks, tdd, staying off the cage, and clean boxing. He'll need all of them to be firing to win this fight.
I'm not sure if calf kicks are the smartest considering they will leave him open for the td. I know he is talking about them but I think he will focus on boxing and tdd.

He's going to have to really hurt Khabib standing and work from there. Any grappling prowess he has is going to be shut down. The improvements he might have made may determine if he gets subbed earlier or not.

Hes beating khabib and I expect the fanboys to cry or make excuses . Justin is a bad march up for khabib. Excellent muai thai boxer with a great wrestling pedigree. Justin's stand up is much greater than khabibs it's not even comparable. Itll be a stand up fight with justin applying alot of pressure and khabib trying engage in grappling whole time while being punched from the inside.

This fight is from 7 years ago, I'd say he's learned a thing or two over the course of that time.
Enough to stop khabib? Khabib outgrapples bjj black belts. I wonder what Justin has in store. I really want to see him mauled. I'm sorry justin, but I just want to see a beating.

Watching that makes me think Aldo would be a great match up for Khabib if he juiced up. He never accepts bottom position.

In what way do you see justin winning? KO? Decision?

I still think Ferguson is a harder fight for Khabib, Gaethje has never fought anyone like Khabib while Justin is the usual "he'll magically keep it standing and KO Khabib with his superior stand-up!". He's getting taken down and will gas from all the grappling from his back and against the fence.

It depends how tough khabib is. We seen him recover nicely against dustin but we never seen him face adversity. I can see a decision but khabib is not exactly unhittable. I see it decision for justin because khabib will constantly shoot and aim to wrestle which will possibly be his downfall

Khabib has never fought anyone like justin . It works both ways except justin wouldnt worry about the stand up too much since hes superior in that area

Gaethje hasn't shown a TDD that's better than Khabib's other opponents and has certainly not shown that he has above average ground game. That's what matters.

Doesnt matter , justin has great wrestling credentials . He'll work on his takedown defense and it wont be hard . It's going to be a stand up fight and justin will win quote me when I'm right
