Gaethje implying that Poirier pokes his eye on purpose in retaliation.

He deserved to get the point taken off, and he kind of deserved to get that eye poke back to imo. Both pokes from him were pretty blatant, they didn't even look accidental. They might have been but he made no attempt to close his fist just put his hand out there with all the fingers pointing right at the eyes. That's terrible and should be penalised.

And Gaethje should have been disqualified for the 2nd eye poke. JUST LOOK AT THE FIRST ROUND YOU GOD DAMN MORON. JP looked completely fine -- then he gets eye poked and his eye is swollen as hell at the end of the round. The damage to JP's eye was 100% from the eye poke.

The 1st eye poke should have been 1 point, and the 2nd should have been a DQ.

I'm only sad that Gaethje doesn't have permanent vision damage.
I have no sympathy for pathetic, disgusting, dirty, gutless cheaters like Gaethje.

1. Who is JP? Justin Poirier?

2. Why wish permanent damage to Gaethje? Justice was meted out, Dustin won. Plus Gaethje has a point deducted so he may be more careful or less likely to try to cheat (depending on your point of view of the deliberate nature of the pokes).

If he did good for him. Justin poked the shit out of both his eyes.

Eddie, Dustin, Lee and Justin are all killers. This division is Rediclious. Then add in Tony, Conor and Khabib.

Holy shit.
Rediclious?

I wouldn't quite go that far but I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
It's the same with low blows, mma fighters don't seem to give one back but boxers usually do.

Hatton returning the favor on Tszyu springs to mind.

Just consider every eyepoke intentional and deduct points. If it happens twice in a fight default DQ the fighter and you'll see how quickly even the "unintentional" eyepokes will stop.

I am fully aware will take away one of Jon Jones' main weapons. Besides PEDs of course, but USADA is allrdy taking care of those.

So knowone posted "an eye for an eye" yet? WTF sherdoggers. Get it together.

is aw bas rutten on JRE and he way saying how in pancrase which is open palm striking no one ever landed eye pokes.. and he said that he thinks alot of guys do it on purpose.

they most certainly do, how many eyepokes happened in Pride? Pancrase? Shooto? Superbrawl? all of these shows used similar gloves to UFC and nobody got poked in the eye.

Did he think he had a monopoly on eyepokes? I'm glad someone finally decided to do that; tired of seeing guys get eyepoked then have to deal with that while their opponent reaps the benefit of fighting someone with impaired vision.

It is like when some dude comes up and starts rogering me. I am rogering that motherfucker right back. See how much he likes that with all the moaning and stuff.

Why? Geathje committed the ultimate combat sports faux pas. He was clearly losing the standup and his leg kicks weren't working.

Both of those eye pokes were intentional.

THEN JG HAD THE IGNORANCE TO COMPLAIN WHEN HE GOT POKED BACK.
This! I was at the fight.. the second rye poke, he threw a punch and opened his fist up before contact to seemingly poke Dustin on purpose.. then acted like he didn't even poke him once the action was stopped.

the 2nd time Gaethje did it - that looked deliberate as hell.
