Dude lost to Tom Niinimäki...how embarrassing, hope he gets a top guy next and gets embarrassed again.
my bad, I thought he lives in New Mexico.I think you are thinking of Makhachev.
Khabilov has visa issues. He hasnt fout in USA since 2014.
I agree, which is why I think he deserves a ranked fighter even if he does fall short against the top of the bw food chain.Title shots and ranks should be based on wins and win streaks and Yahya deserves to be considered
Skill wise and style wise sure maybe he won’t touch the likes of Cruz or even Garbrandt but his record stands factual, he just isn’t Twittering and shoving at press conferences enough to warrant title contention
This logic means nothing. It's not as if fighters cannot improve.Dude lost to Tom Niinimäki...how embarrassing, hope he gets a top guy next and gets embarrassed again.
And they just cut the one guy who beat him. Wild.
They still have Joe B, maybe he can go back up.
I mean Vick was 9-1 in UFC, then he faced someone near the top. In this run I think Kanehara was his best opponent and that was a split decision win.
Meh. He has that record but he's beaten basically nobodies in the UFC. Also zero finishes via strikes in his career after 35 fights is not appealing given how old he is as well and lost to the only remotely known guys he fought.
Hell, even Maia and Shields have a few finishes via strikes.
Fact: Kanehara got robbed against Yahya. This guys reminds me Khabilov with how he is getting buried in cards (FN cards too) despite the stellar record. Very few guys have a UFC record this solid. Surely a top 5 or top 10 fight has to be coming?
My post is accurate and relevant. If you don't understand why or how, that is your problem, not mine.Completely irrelevant post.
So because he doesn't have a top10 win means he only beat 'nobodies'? No matter who you fought going 7-1 in the UFC in 4 years is impressive. This is the biggest league in the world.
And what's the deal if he hasn't a finish by strikes ? How does that matters ? He's a ground specialist and 77% of his wins are submissions.

His record of wins in the ufc are nobodies. Whenever he fought somewhat known people he lost. He has a grappling oriented style and isn't going to finish by strikes ever and this matters to casuals who are the majority of people who pay to see UFCs.
These are all relevant. Please indulge me how it isn't relevant.
Mike Brown, Josh Grispi, Hirota and Kahanera are nobodies ? We don't say he deserves to be ranked in the top5, just that his run in the UFC is very underrated. Consitency matters too.
I still don't get your point about not finishing by strikes. He finishes fights by sub, that's a finish, that matters to casuals. GSP didn't finish a fight for like 10 years and still he was a top draw.
