Any fusion dancers out there?
Fusion is similar to the concept of MMA. Dancers with different backgrounds get together to dance to almost any kind of music. I’ve studied Argentine tango, west coast swing, blues, and dabbled with salsa, cha cha, ecstatic, contact improv, hip hop, and lindy hop.
The Bay Area has a large fusion scene. I started partner dancing about 11 years ago and it really enriched my life in ways I couldn’t imagine. What I find really fun is dancing in random places... dancing while hiking or at a town plaza during Christmas.
Here are a couple of examples of me doing my thing... I think fusion dancing is a nice complement to my jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts training.
