Fury beat Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA and WBO heavyweight titles in November.

Ukad said its statement was in response to comments from Tyson Fury and his team.

A spokeswoman said: "UK Anti-Doping can confirm that both boxers were charged on 24 June, 2016 with presence of a prohibited substance."

Fury announced on 24 June that he was pulling out of a planned Klitschko rematch, scheduled for 9 July, saying he had injured his ankle in training.

The charges will be considered at a hearing of the independent National Anti-Doping Panel on a date to be confirmed.
On Tuesday, Fury's legal team said proceedings had been issued in the High Court.

"The two boxers strenuously deny taking any performance-enhancing drugs," said lawyer Lewis Power.

"However, during the last five weeks leaks about these charges have appeared in the press and both boxers have been the targets of continual abusive language on Twitter."

Probably should have just fought with a sore ankle since it looks like he'll be getting stripped/suspended now instead.

Posted about this a month ago but back then the Furys were not only denying the allegations but they were denying that there even were allegations at all and claimed the entire story was made up.

Seems the "ANKLE" injury about the right time ,now there will be a loop hole where the Furys can claim the time has by passed any legal action.....

Who cares let this fool take whatever he wants , Klitchko is going to paste him !

The UFC was jealous of him and framed him.

I said several times that Fury would never fight again and that he would quit boxing after that horrid victory in the worst title fight I've ever seen. Looks like I may have been right one way or another.

I can't remember another fighter winning belts and gaining so many fans only to lose them so quickly outside of the ring. He went from mildly entertaining to world champion then opened his mouth to let his shitty personality dribble out and now he's like the babbling hobo on the street corner everyone avoids.

Thanks Cheese, the original post is misleading.

Klitschko is not the 2nd fighter who failed the test, it is Fury and his cousin. Klitschko is clean.

God Damnit... At the end of 2015 the HW division was looking really interesting again. Now it has seemed to have imploded.

2016 - The year we can't have nice things in boxing.

What do you mean? There have been a lot of good fights, but with all of the bullshit with the HW division and the and Canelo holding out on the GGG fight the first half of this year has really let me down.

I am however looking forward to the Pacquiao Vargus fight. And unless some Buster Douglas shit happens tonight we'll get to see Ward vs Kovalev, but fights like Ward vs Kovalev are very few and far between in boxing these days.

FFS some of you super hardcore boxing fans act as if the state of boxing is perfect and should be immune to criticism.

There have been lots of truly amazing fights this year.

If all you want are superstars fighting superstars then it has been a disappointing year but even when that does happen we often get shit like Pac/Mayweather so I choose to judge fights based off the actual fights and not ratings or rankings or how many followers the fighters have on their mytwitgramface accounts.

That's very true. My-self I am a fan of fighting and not fighters. There is nothing better than catching a mid-week PBC fight that absolutely delivers. It's just that we don't always get to see who the best is.
