FUN FACT : THE GOAT HAS THE LONGEST ACTIVE WINNING STREAK .

If you look at the number of people each person fought, who went on to beat other top competition after fighting the GOAT... Spider rises to the top.

IMO... if a GOAT beats someone who does not continue on to beat other top competition, then that means the GOAT did not get the best of that person despite what they achieved in the past.

LOL. Imo if a GOAT beats guys who lost 1 or 2 fights ago, that means he didn't beat them at their best, even if they later got big wins.

See, it goes both ways. BEating guys that are on a roll is what matters. That means you beat them when they were the hardest to beat.

Jon Jones never lost in 24 fights

GSP tapped to strikes against Matt Serra

It’s quite possible that Jones cheated for his entire career. Anderson was also caught for cheating. He was also subbed Takase and Chonan. Then he truly entered his prime after. GSP at least lost to Matt Serra, a far more well known and better fighter than those Silva was stopped by. Georges truly entered his prime after that fight. Serra made him that much better.

That loss was the best thing to ever happen to him. Sometimes losing can be better for you than winning. What’s wrong with tapping to strikes? Have you ever been hit before? Have you had a guy standing over you punching your face in? He was taking clean punches and he was very badly hurt, but they weren’t enough to put him out.

What was he supposed to do? lay there until he does finally go to sleep or..? He did the logical thing. There is nothing wrong with tapping to strikes like he did. He didn’t simply look for a way out. He did his best to stay in the fight, fight back, defend himself, but Matt was better that night. Georges is still the GOAT.

The only all time greats GSP beat were Hughes and Penn. Penn was from a lighter weight class and should have never fought him, and Hughes when it was prime vs prime he easily beat GSP, then lost the other fights when he was past it.

He beat a lot of good but not great fighters. GSP is honestly barely a top 10 ATG fighter and is nowhere near top 5.

Most sherdoggers haven't been hit, but the guys you're comparing him to have been hit harder you dope. GSP's tapping to strikes to Serra is certainly the most embarrassing loss out of all the greats. Being caught by a submission specialist doesn't compare. Serra should have never in a million years held a world title and only one man made that possible for him.

It's not as simple as W'z & L'z for either method in reality. Each fight can be further broken down, but the logic of highly noting that someone did not beat any top competition after the GOAT fight is pretty telling for someone who was washed up. Fedor vs. Coleman 2 is a perfect example of this. Despite Mark's past accomplishments, Fedor does not get a GOAT point for that fight. Coleman was old & over the hill. You could see it in his performance & you can see it in his record after fighting Fedor the 2nd time.

It's not 100% either for someone being on a tear before fighting the GOAT. Coleman actually got f*cked up pretty bad prior to their first fight & I almost wanted to take a GOAT point from Fedor for that first fight... especially in the light that Coleman had no top competition wins after that (aside from Shogun's fluke injury) I think it's very realistic that injury finished Mark Coleman as a top contender. I had a hard core Fedor fan challenge me on that to watch it again & see if I could detect the injury in Coleman's movement. I could not... & actually Coleman seemed to be moving like normal so I digressed & gave Fedor that GOAT point despite the fact that it went against my "general method" of noting wins after fighting the GOAT & the fact that I still believe Coleman was done upon that injury prior to their first fight.

Fuck rogan. "Majority of sherdog" Oh yea what a great basis for fight scoring. Half this site cant even wipe their own asses

Lol thats fine, but

1. Media outlets arent a better source for reliable scoring.

2. This is the biggest MMA community in the world, so drawing a general concesus on here is way more prevalent than anything else

I love GSP as much as the next guy but GSP vs Serra is considered by many to be one of the biggest championship upsets ever. Losing to Takase and Chonan pale in comparison.

A loss is a loss. Silva never should’ve been KNOCKED OUT by Weidman, either. Even more embarrassing than GSP because he thought he had it under control. Then his career is over.

Crocop and Minotauro are better then anyone GSP fought... Only Hendricks has a case here
Shogun, Machida, Rashad, Gustafson, Cormier.... What the fuck...
Henderson, Belfort are like better than any gsp victory except maybe Hendricks...
McGregor run trough murders row and actually look great doing.
Cormier is getting belts left and right, his competition blows any of gsp victories...
Is Jon Fitch the number 2 all time for you or something? All you need to win agaisnt a guy like Hughes is keep standing... His division was so overated... Thiago Alves is like poor men Crocop...
Guy was greasing, is that fair play or something?

And someone in this very thread said no one hates on GSP

<36>

Keep hating. He's still the GOAT and you're still a Shertard and no amount of shitposting will change that
