Is this where Max Holloway is headed for stepping in for Cody McKenzie against Leonard Garcia after wrecking Justin Lawrence on the main card at UFC 150. Seems like a bad deal as his sponsorship money will definitely take a hit.

Good to see he is willing to take short notice fights though, and even ones that are not going to raise his stock much.

I don't think it matters really, if Holloway wins he's just making his way up the ranks and maybe he feels he can definitely beat Garcia and it could push him up a little quicker. Who knows, either way Holloway is looking real good.

Source?
If true i've got Holloway movement, footwork and body shots.

It's not that bad. Elkins went 5-0, all were watched on Facebook. That's a lot of fights for free

max is gonna get a smooth TKO as long as he fights smart. if he brawls i think garcia will test his chin.

Without looking up the card, I am going to guess that all the other main event fights are a lot more better than a Leonard Garcia fight

It's an easy win for him, why not take it?

Because If I remember right his last fight he got $12,000 including his win bonus. Why not wait for a fight on a main card where he obviously belongs where you're gonna get alot more sponsorship money.

Hallman/Tavares would have been on the main card instead of him, but it got moved.

He got lucky, and used the most of his opportunity in the first place.

The dude just turned 21 this month, he's the youngest fighter in the UFC right now I think.

Probably needs the $ and feels that he can get a win over a well known name in Leonard.

Plus he knows a standup fight with Leonard often leads to fight night bonuses, which equals even more $.

why do people not realize the importance of the facebook prelims? These fights are influential in bringing additional sales to the PPV, you dont put crud out there to sell your PPV, you put quality out there.

I guarantee you Dana and co. threw a ton of bonus money his way that would more than cover him for any sponsorship money. They also probably made a few financial promises to him if he wins.

Exactly, plus Dana has a history of taking care of fighters who take fights on short notice and don't bitch about it. Win or lose, I'm betting he gets hooked up after the fight.

Fighters that step in at short notice to tend to get taken care of. Smart move by him.
